Sen. Inhofe predicts "another Republican revolution.... like 1994" in 2010
Edited on Wed Apr-29-09 11:54 AM by underpants
Just now on Fox

Inhofe said "all the same signs are there" pointing to how Clinton "decimated the military...assault weapons ban...and Hillary care"
"In fact it will be worse"

The Fox News personality (missed her named) pointed out that "Fred Barnes wrote in the Wall Street Journal just today that he expects things to be worse for the Republicans in 2010"

Inhofe, "well I like Fred and all that but I think we will see substantial gains..I think we will have another Republican revolution all the signs are there"

ON EDIT- Fox is barely mentioning Obama's 100th day but they did mention the "Air Force One flyover" three times in the 10 minutes I was watching.

Pointing out how ridiculous the Bush claims of Saddam's fleet of unmanned aerial vehicles

"This turn out to be as plausible as the Malawi space program, which consists of a bucket and one man's dreams"

Edited on Wed Apr-29-09 11:58 AM by Tempest
New York District 20 has 70,000 more registered Repugs than Democrats, yet a Democrat won the seat.

The number of people identifying themselves as Repugs is at 21%, down from just two years ago.

The Repugs haven't won an election since 2006. They've lost EVERY special election since then.

But then you have to consider the source. Inhofe is a racist prick who's stuck in the 1600s.

13. You know what's really funny about that.....
what you posted was mentioned by Chuck Todd this morning on Joe

Remember Rush's "Operation Hillary" in which he claimed to have created an army of Republicans turning out to vote for Hillary?
I think the stats you posted give a better explanation of this. He flat out turned a devastating defection of the party into a fake movement FOR them

17. And we're seeing it again

With Sarah Palin's sychophants.

They really believe they can mobilize the country to support and vote for Palin in 2012.

I'm not ashamed to say I'm enjoying immensely the state of the GOP today.

22. Republicons should try acting like real conservatives
You know, halting their insane, radical borrow-and-spend financial profligacy that tossed America in the economic crapper, and maybe conserving the environment a little bit so there will be something worthwhile for our children and grandchildren.

The Republicons love to toss around the word 'conservative' but it is just so much PR propaganda, with no basis in the reality of their thinking or action. If they were real conservatives, America would welcome them back from their self-imposed exile in their Totalitarian HOMELAND.

23. We may joke about it but I wouldn't rule it out just yet
I think this is why Obama has put the vast majority of his focus on the economy even though we liberals are screaming for him to do something about the Torture Memos, War, etc. etc.

These issues are all equally important but with our country in a serious ecomonic downturn, it would look bad on Obama to have his focus elsewhere. Congress can deal with the war & torture (some of them are) and let Obama focus on what is most important to America.

33. Real Estate developer (went into recievership)- came from the House in 1994 "Revolution"
Early life

Inhofe was born in Des Moines, Iowa and moved with his family to Tulsa, Oklahoma, when he was a child. He was a member of the Class of 1953 at Tulsa Central High School,<3> and served in the United States Army from 1957 to 1958.<4><5>

In 1959, Inhofe married Kay Kirkpatrick, with whom he has four children.

Inhofe received a B.A. degree from the University of Tulsa in 1973, at the age of 38.

In his business career, Inhofe was a real estate developer and became president of the Quaker Life Insurance Company. That company went into receivership while he managed it; it was liquidated in 1986.<6>

Senate career

In 1994, incumbent Sen. David Boren, who had been serving in the Senate since 1979, agreed to become president of the University of Oklahoma and announced he would resign as soon as a successor was elected. Inhofe won the Republican nomination for the November special election and was swept to victory amid a strong Republican tide that saw the Republicans take both houses of Congress and elected the state's second-ever Republican governor. He took office on November 17, his 60th birthday, giving him a bit more Senatorial seniority than the incoming class of senators. After serving the last two years of Boren's term, he won the seat in his own right in 1996 and was re-elected in 2002.

29. Don't think so
Inhofe needs to realize a few things. One, in 1994 they had Gingrich leading the charge from Congress. As much as I dislike Newt he is not stupid and does have some strategic and tactical acumen. Two, in 1994 the Republicans were still in the position to use the memory of Ronnie Reagan to rally the troops. Three, I the Republican party was bigger at least percentage wise and had many moderates, independents and some conservative Democrats willing to side with them. So, right now the Republicans really don't have a leader (Gingrich being on the outside looking in is not in a real strong position to enforce party unity), the memory of Reagan is a thing of the past especially with younger voters, the Republican party is shrinking primarily because moderate Republicans are jumping ship. With all the lies and nonsense the conservatives in the party have been spewing independents and conservative Democrats are looking else many of the to the Democratic party. Also, in the last few elections the Democrats have out organized and raised and spent more money than the Republicans. Barring some unforeseen calamity I think the Republicans are set for a further fall in 2010. Something that might really devastate the Republicans even more is if during Obama's first 2 years Bin Laden was capture, killed or died.
