The Dem party never had a dwindling base. The terra winds blew against us in 2002 and 2004. But our basic party foundation was never was in jeopardy. On an even playing field, the math was always in our favor.

For the GOP, the math has turned against them. How come they know it, and you don't?

8. They are resting.
This is something that Republican voting Democratic Congress Critters need to remember when they vote down Party commitments. Make Work Pay, Health Care, Education Reform, Economic Recovery were all key planks of the Democratic election victory. Voting these down because the district they represent used to trend Rethug means that the Democratic Party can not keep its promises. As George H Bush found out - there is nothing like an electorate made angry because of broken promises. Even a successful war will not save you.

4. Well, get ready for
pork-chops in the tree-tops.

I'm going to be the optimistic one here....they would have to regroup as something other than the current "Repub Party." I really think the So-con wing and the "religious right" wing of that party are dead. The fiscal-cons and the neo-cons might make a comeback, but not unless they discard the social conservatives and religious nuts (not always the same.) They were just being used by the big-business guys and small-govt guys anyway. Where the big-business faction goes is anyone's guess...probably to the Dems.

I am SO loving this....still pinching myself every morning. My God, payback is a bitch, ain't it?
