More GOP infighting! The (so-called) prolifers on Brownback's vote to confirm Sebelius
Edited on Thu Apr-30-09 12:21 PM by proud2BlibKansan
I am absolutely revolted and disgusted with what Sam Brownback did today. I am far more upset about his betrayal of his Christian principles and ALLEGEDLY anti-abortion values by voting for the most repulsive pro-abortion elected official I’ve had the misfortune to encounter.

Evidently voting for Katherine Sebelius is more important than standing up for life.

A Kansas pastor says by endorsing Kathleen Sebelius for Health and Human Services secretary, Senator Sam Brownback "violated the scriptures and his own church's teaching" and "betrayed" many conservative Christians who had been his largest base of support.

"Two good men, Sens. Sam Brownback and Pat Roberts, cowed by political expediency and a despairing pragmatism, have cooperated with evil and helped pave the way for the Obama administration's virulently pro-abortion agenda," said Brown.

"Faced with the most extreme anti-life presidential administration in history, these two 'pro-life' men had the opportunity to radically change the course of Gov. Sebelius' confirmation process and make a heroic stand against the evil of abortion. Instead, they chose to congratulate, support and appoint a woman who, wedded to the Kansas abortion lobby, helped make that state the 'late-term abortion capital of the world.'

"In her new position as secretary of Health and Human Services, Sebelius will have the power to make the United States the abortion capital of the world," Brown warned.

11. They are a very loud minority
Not enough of them to win many statewide seats. Fortunately, even though this is a republican state, most of our republicans are moderates.
