I work in an occupation where I get to see the mindset of the GOP mind almost every day. These people are in complete denial and think that a recovery is just around the corner.

On top of that, you can't even get these people to discuss the shape of their party because they are so delusional. The other day I tried discussing the shape of their party from just the demographic angle and purposely told him I wasn't even talking about the ideological angle, and he would not have it.


Another one, when I did bring up the ideological aspect by telling him that Americans are becoming much more accepting of sexual and racial issues and have been for some time, he blared, "You're just spouting the shit that's in the mainstream media."


So enjoy this meltdown, because not only is it going to continue for some time, but these morons will not get it until their delusional, plane filled membership crashes to the ground and they are forced to eat each other like zombies. (Look to the defection of Specter for what that will look like).

defection is the first sign of the GOP's "return to prominence". He said they were getting rid of all their dead weight and returning to their "core conservative values". "You'll see", he said, "The socialists are gonna have this country so screwed up by 2012, everybody will be begging for the Republicans to fix the mess".

I smiled and said, "We'll see", but was quietly chuckling to myself and hoping the denial lasts as long as possible.

in the Republican Party, I think its safe to assume that the moderates lost this battle. They blame McCain for not being hardcore enough and the reason why they lost. Hell, they tout Reagan but his policies would be very adverse to the current Republican agenda.

2010 will go up in flames and they will blame Steele. He's set up to be nothing but a fall guy and I think he's beginning to figure that out.

2012 they will have their pure ultra-orthodox elitist conservative and we will see the same map as the 1984 election....only it will be blue this time.

By then they will have either destroyed the party and will see a new one or one of the smaller ones emerge....or, the moderates will do a hostile takeover like the extremist have.

When I listen to what they have planned for America and the world. More wars and poverty. These people continue to think that they need to control us in and out of the bedroom. There are so many people who are so stupid that they would vote for them again no matter what evidence is presented.

These people have the nerve to come on television and tell us that nothing should be done for the unemployed,homeless,or anybody but the rich and some continue to think that this is right and that the country was on the right track for eight years.They put 37% of tax cuts in the recovery package and that still is not enough and they really think that is all we need to do.

Do they see the crime going up do they really think that it won't effect them in someway. They complain about guantanmo as though the Pres should have them place on day one. I heard that the Democrat sen Max Bachus had the nerve to say not in his backyard as though they are afraid of the detainees are they people in guantanmo suppose to be badder than our crimnals? I don't think so.

...and applying it to where, contextually and substantively, it simply doesn't apply or resonate in quite the same manner i.e. all of the recent hurling of "fascism," and "socialist." (I've no illusions re name brand political parties, but Obama admin is no Bush admin)

It's as if overnight they went from haranguing and denouncing the VERY justifiable 'fascist' criticisms of Bush/Cheney as being beyond the pale and unfounded, to applying those same criticisms to the flip-side of the coin merely based on the volatility of the buzz words alone.
