The Plumline Online: "The Incredible Shrinking GOP: Shrinks to 23% in Five Years"
http://theplumline.whorunsgov.com/republican-party/the-incredible-shrinking-gop-party-shrunk-by-one-fourth-in-five-years/

Here's a Washington Post poll that finds them shrunk to 21% http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/politics/polls/postpoll_042609.html

And a third poll that has them at 20% of current voters http://theplumline.whorunsgov.com/political-media/the-incredible-shrinking-gop-only-one-in-five-self-identify-as-republican/

As a Democrat, I'm thrilled. As an American, this makes me kinda sad to see so many ideologues hijack a major party and so enthusiastically drive it off a cliff. At some point they have to snap to and realize they need another Eisenhower, right?

1. This is important. Not just the Repub decline, but that the Dems are NOT getting those that are
leaving. Obviously 2008 was good, but 2009 showed a strong surge in independents.

3. Get rid of your teabags and convert all public work services to private industry
Also a tax cut here or there will help "drown the baby."

4. Yet they still have the power to block progressive legislation
You would never know the repubs are in decline from today's bankruptcy bill failure in the Senate. They will just call themselves "democrats" and keep going. I think this is part of the reason for the independents doing so well...
