"I did *not* say I was a loyal Democrat"
Arlen Spector on a Sunday yakker show yesterday.

This is smelling like a reverse Lieberman.

So far, in the PA senate race, my money's on Adm Joe Sestak, who is actually **very** conservative ...... far too conservative to suit me ...... but at least he doesn't bullshit about who and what he is.

2. If you heard his interview with Howard Stern a few weeks ago you could tell he was in limbo.
I though of Lieberman too, but then I began to think of Spectre's situation a bit differently; that he indeed has felt betrayed by his own party.

Time will tell what he really is. I am keeping my fingers crossed he is not a mirror image of Lieberman; that would be tragic.

3. Correct response to Spector should have been stay GOP
but vote Democratic til the end of your term and then retire.

Spector hopefully is recognized as a mistake a mistake and also hopefully will be rectified.

4. This ass is gonna switch again.
He will stink up the party for a year, then get GOP guarantee for primary win, and jump back. republicans are so stupid they will take him back and cheer his return to the fold.

5. Sestak would be a huge improvement over integrity-free Specter
but will the Dems support a primary next year?

I get the impression "no primary" or "Obama will support Specter for Senator therefore no primary"
was part of the turncoat deal.

Which is crappy, because he won't vote with us. (And has proven it in spades since switching parties.)

7. Two words
Ned Lamont

I'm not so sure how well turncoat Spector will do statewide, either, if there's a honest to gawd dem and an honest to gawd repub running.
