Reminder! Please vote for Adam Lambert tonight on American Idol ! Support talent instead of hate!
Edited on Tue May-05-09 02:47 PM by saracat
The fundies are massing to send their messgage of bigotry and we need to send a message that talent instead of bigotry is valued in the United States. For to whom it may make a differnce, not only is Adam hughly talented but Adam and the Lambert family were huge supporters of Obama. Lets pay it forward! Please vote for Adam even if you have never watched Idol before. It isn't about the show. it is about the message! And BTW, vote as many times as you can. Keep pressing redial! It will make you feel really good!

8. Church congrgations have been "ordered" to vote against him. This is a fact that has been reported
in the MSM. It was that vote that put Adam in the bottom 3 last week! They would eliminate the most talented entertainer we have seen in decade based on his alleged orientation. They say his talent is not "fromGod" as if Danny Gokey's" who is a fundie Choir dirtector! They have also started an anybody but Adam campaign for the Finale!

4. I'm on it....
I really loathe Idol, but I loathe fundies even more.

My roommate is WAY into idol, so I see/hear it from time to time. I was not very happy about Lambert's butchering of "Ring of Fire" but.... It doesn't mean that he should be voted off because he's not "a good christian boy."

Seriously. I have a problem voting a guy into a contract that is only going to give Simon Cowell and associates a large percentage of everything the kid makes for a DECADE.

Yeah, I know it's his choice, and perhaps he is talented. Most of what I've seen (especially in the last few years) is at best, marginally talented.

Vote for the Worst

http://votefortheworst.com/20090503/vote_worst_encourages_you_vote_danny_gokey_top_4

Vote for the Worst Encourages You to Vote for Danny Gokey in the Top 4

We're sure most of you are looking at your computer screens saying, "Huh? Gokey?" But everyone has to admit that Danny Gokey is the least talented person left on the show and the perfect pick to make people angry. He's the worst singer, he's the worst dancer, he's the most annoying, he adds nothing creative to any performance he does, he's the one the tweens seem to hate the most, he has no sense of humor, the only reason he made it this far is because he used his dead wife sob story, and he's the least marketable. A Danny Gokey album would be like a less likeable Taylor Hicks releasing a new record: a complete disaster. The other 3 actually have a chance at legitimate careers. Also, the overly obsessive Idol fans this year want Adam to win. We think some suicide pacts were made when he hit the bottom 2 last week. So we'd like to see Gokey beat Adam and piss off the Idol fans even more. So it's no jokey, vote for Karaoke Gokey. It's a win-win for us this week no matter what happens. If Danny stays and kicks out someone the tweens and frauen like better, it'll be hilarious. If Danny goes home, we won't care one bit because we hate him. At this point it'd be very funny to force Idol to crown Danny as the victor. They'd be stuck with him for at least one album of pure train wreck goodness. But now, we can't lose. VFTW Victory! Danny surely has urned this honor for using a personal tragedy to try to jumpstart a singing career.

I got news for you, if you are watching American Idol you are not supporting talent. You are support the corporate manufacture of teen idols and pop bands. If you want to really support real talent, get off your couch and go check out some live music at local clubs. American Idol is a joke.

72. Well I watched tonight since Slash was on.
Sure these people have some talent. They all belong in Vegas. It's schlock. Glitzy shlock. The judges were fawning over this kids version of Whole Lotta Love which was a best a great glitzy Vegas version of the song. It had none of the heart and soul of the original. It lost all it's meaning in this performance. One judge called him a "Rock God" :spray: what are you kidding me? You know what this reminds me of? The 1950's when Pat Boon was singing Good Golly Miss Molly on the radio because Little Richards version was too dirty. This is polished sanitized music for the masses. Yuck.

18. He is very talented and has been my favorite since the beginning.
Some people seem to think if you are gay you don't deserve anything good. He actually may be better off to not win and be locked into a contract. But this voting for someone else because he is gay just shows how prevalent ignorance is in this country. I believe calling this country the UNITED States of America is a misnomer.

I bet they figured at the time that Adam had it in the bag and they could afford to throw it away on Matt. I liked Matt, but imho, it's been clear for awhile that they all are pulling for Adam.

BTW, I bet Adam was in the TOP 3, as well as the bottom 3.

45. voting doesn't do anything
You do know that don't you? The show controls the voting so they get the contestants and eventual winner they want... same for all the shows where viewers call in votes. That said though, Adam will probably win anyway since it's obvious Simon wants him signed on his miserable usury contract.

69. They mess with the voting phone lines
Whoever they want to be kicked off they drop a sizable portion of the available phone lines to call in to vote. They also cut out all the phone lines for a particular contestant for a period of time in certain small areas. The AI website forum always immediately deletes any mention or even questioning of this practice and bans the user who posted such talk. Somewhere in the fine print of the credits it even says they reserve the right to do what they want with voting.

As for Hicks, who knows why he was chosen. He makes a killing in tours even now all over the world.

In any case, it's abundantly clear Simon wants Adam to win this year, thus he will win. He'd more than likely win without any vote manipulation anyway since he is better in both voice and stage presence than anyone else.

Adam deserves to win. He's the strongest singer and the best performer.

Yeah, the show isn't completely fair with the voting. They do try to sway the votes. Simon, I think, changes his comments to get the effect he/the producers want.

56. It wasn't that surprising that Adam was in the bottom 3
There were only 5 people left. I doubt he had the second lowest votes though. The NY Post had an article about Idol:

"Since "Idol" never specifically states who the second- and third-lowest vote getters are, any conclusions that the audience draws from the order that they're sent to the safe stand is purely 'up to the public at home.'"

http://www.nypost.com/seven/05012009/tv/adam_really_was_in_the_bottom_3_167038.htm

So Adam probably came in with the third most votes last week but the producers sent Kris back to safety first to make things seem more dramatic.

65. ADAM'S numbers
Edited on Tue May-05-09 07:55 PM by ohheckyeah
to vote for Adam:

1-866-436-5701 or 1-866-436-5705

Adam just slayed Whole Lot of Love....it was great. Allison did a pretty decent job of Cry Baby as well.

Next up is a duet with Adam and Allison.

70. Or text "vote" to 5701.
I sent the text and have been hitting "resend" for several minutes.

75. I missed it last night, but Adam is the most talented of the remaining contestants
This season has a great final 5. I never call in and vote, and don't plan to start now, but I think Adam is more talented than Danny. Danny is great, but his style gets redundant after a while.
