Barack and Joe go to White Castle … I mean, Ray’s Hell Burger (Pool Report)
<snip>
The Daily Guidance from the White House said “12:30 lunch in Oval Office, closed press.”

But now we know better. By “we,” I mean the White House press corps, where this reporter had pool duty Tuesday.

Those wild and crazy guys at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue summoned the motorcade, and off we went across the Roosevelt Bridge into Arlington, Va., to Ray’s Hell Burger — a joint so new it still doesn’t have a sign up.

Obama and Biden entered through the front door. The press pool — yours truly included — entered through the back. At least Barack and Joe didn’t pull rank and cut the line: The leaders of the free world, all spiffed up in suits and ties, stood patiently with the regular lunch crowd, waiting their turn.

1. Wow, what's even better: Obama going to a place that just opened.
Helping spur business in the future and hopefully keeping this place open during tough economic times.

3. except for the snide comments section
I swear, now and then I can't help but recall an old Saturday Night Live appearance by Jessie Jackson (LONG time ago). Jackson said he and the Pope went fishing together one day, leaving the press all watching from the shore. Suddenly a big wind blows the Pope's miter off his head and onto the water. Jackson steps out of the boat and walks across the water, fetches the miter and climbs back in. The headlines the next day read "Jessie Can't Swim."

5. haha!
I agree, though. It's pathetic and petty. The Republicans are in a tizzy because they just can't get the guy.

Look at the comment about Obama leaving a $5 tip and how the guy says he's not an everyday man because no one can afford to leave that big of a tip for a burger. Uhm, hello, he isn't an everyday man you idiot! He's the fucking POTUS. Had he left a $1 tip, this guy would've railed against him for being cheap.
