Reid Spokesman: "We Are Just Going To Have To Disagree" With Specter About Minn. Senate Race
By Eric Kleefeld - May 5, 2009, 4:59PM

Harry Reid spokesman Jim Manley gives us a comment about Sen. Arlen Specter's (D-PA) apparent desire for Norm Coleman to win the disputed Minnesota Senate race.

"Well, on that one we are just going to have to disagree," Manley writes, "because as far as Senator Reid and the people of Minnesota are concerned, Al Franken is going to be the next Senator from Minnesota."

2. They had better support a Dem candidate in PA because if that SOB
can't even get on board with Franken he is complete shit and Reid better remember what party he is in.

3. I have a committee assignment for him
The Pennsylvania Sewage Treatment Oversight Committee.

Maybe he can get some free treatment in the process. I'm sure Anita Hill would be happy to assist.

9. Why are you blaming the lack of a vote on Reid? What would be his
reasoning for holding this up? And can you show me he is? I'm honestly baffled.

12. He is. Reid is the one that hasn't brought it up for a floor vote
Edited on Tue May-05-09 04:27 PM by Thrill
She was voted out of committee in March. The only one now keeping it from a floor vote is Reid. He schedules the votes and debates.

Most who don't pay attention to these nominees are giving him a free ride. But this one is important. And he apparently is allowing threats of a filibuster scare him. Even Lugar has said he will vote for her. BRING IT TO THE FLOOR

6. Whether Norm Coleman should steal the election in the courts is not
an "agree to disagree" issue. Either you are for the voters in Minnesota getting the representation they voted for and the Democratic Party winning a 60th seat, or you are against both.

8. To be fair there's very little Reid can say here.
What did you expect? "What? Fuck that--I'll pound that sumbitch's head into a red paste! Where is he?"
