After hearing President Obama's speech, I expect that there will be a FLOOD of negative comments by
the MSM and the GOP. The MSM has a lot of blood on their hands as well. Not only did they NOT do their job and report the facts, they propped up Cheney/Bush to the level of hero worshiping.

Those who are speaking out against Cheney will be marginalized by the likes of those like Pat Buchanan. They know that Cheney's ass is covered with this crap, but whoever is still defending him, HAS to play it right. Cheney's life behind bars is at stake.

There is NO DOUBT that President Obama's speech hit a nerve and we will see the effects of that by all the blow-hard, puffed pieces coming from those who will scream to be heard.

2. yes, but this isn't about his speech. It's about Cheney and
the complicit behavior.

why? I'm sure it's something that defies rational thinking since it is Dick Cheney we are talking about.

5. Cheney has always had high negative ratings. It's not about race, it's about him coming
across like a mean old crank, which he is.

His approval ratings are stunningly low. The president giving a major speech the same day is all good for the Blue Crew.

7. Unless you watch the crazy people at FAUX news!
They are beaming with pride after crazy Cheney' speech. One of them said, " The most powerful Vice President and more powerful ex-Vice President as well..." :argh:

6. Didn't take long. Reuters headline: Obama tries to regain control of security debate

Obama's decision to deliver the speech in the National Archives. . . was his most concerted effort yet to regain the initiative from Republicans and explain to Americans the decisions he has taken on national security and how he plans to deal with Guantanamo's inmates when the prison at a U.S. Naval base in Cuba is closed.

. . .

Obama's speech on Thursday contained few concrete details and may do little to satisfy fellow Democrats who have demanded a detailed plan on closing Guantanamo . . .

Obama has faced criticism from both the left and the right over his decisions to block the release of photos of alleged detainee abuse, reviving military commissions to prosecute terrorism suspects, and the publication of documents detailing Bush-era interrogation techniques. In responding to critics on Thursday, he sought to portray himself as tough on security while still promising a more transparent government.

Mostly negative. Only positive is that they said Obama said he is following rule of law while Bush undermined national security.
