1. "And now in silence..."
It just kills me a little bit more every time.

4. There is always silence in our house during that segment.
I demand it.

The silence of Death is overwhelming. The one sound I have never forgotten.

2. I can't watch that segment anymore. So many of them are so young,
barely out of high school. And you know that many of those shown have left children without a parent and that a family grieves for each and every one of them. It just breaks my heart.

5. We don't watch it at our house either, Arkansas Granny.
Mr. Wonderful always switches to TV over to MSNBC to watch Keith Olbermann at 7:00 pm CDT. That segment breaks both our hearts.

7. Indeed. I catch the News Hour here in Australia occasionally.
Gives me chills. Forces people to stop and think about it, just for a moment.

8. I made myself watch it for a long time as I felt it was like a tribute.
However, I have come to the conclusion that sobbing in front of the TV during that segment was doing no one any good, not the soldiers, not their families and not me.

10. I do too. I don't want to watch it, but I feel that I must honor them with my attention.
Their deaths represent such a loss for all of us.

9. I watch it, and when I hear the music intro, I say to myself Oh god
all these deaths for lies, it is truly sickening we got to get them back home, bush is systemically raping and killing our military. 10 more families without their loved ones. And this filthy man we have who claims he's president is threatening our congress that those soldiers will have to stay longer, and go back more often, this man is committing war crimes everyday, enough is enough, coward hypocrite he is.

11. every day I watch
I can't go a day without My Jim
A couple years ago they used to show 1 or 2 at the time and sometimes none at all.. so I though they might actually be saving them up (you know, "using" the news the way every other network does) but not anymore, there's just so many now.
I mostly watch the people's ages.
