Three Georgia Guardsmen killed in Afghanistan, one a friend of my nephew

They were buds in training and when deployed to Biloxi during Katrina. Their unit was ressigned and they split up -- the friend went to Afghanistan earlier, my nephew leaves next week. This is so sad -- and with my nephew's upcoming deployment, hitting way way too close.

Fortunately, I was able to have a brief online chat with him -- his cell phone battery was dead so he couldn't call. He's pretty broken up, as you might imagine. It's going to be a very long 9 months.

My nephew is pretty torn up -- not only is he leaving his family tomorrow to go back to the base, he's just lost a good friend. And his mom's anxiety -- and that of his aunties -- has just skyrocketed.
