Hello DU! This is coming to you live from the 2009 New Hampshire
Democratic Party state convention!

How about a shout-out for the Granite State, the birthplace of the
Republican Party, now a solidly-blue state, and the latest domino
to fall in the push for Equal Marriage?

And if you happen to actually *BE* here, come down to the front
row of the Hillsborough County delegation and say hello!

1. Uh-oh!

You can tell we're still Democrats; scheduled to begin
at 9:45, the PA system is still blasting Bachman-Turner
Overdrive's "You Ain't Seen Nuthin Yet"...

Oh, we're beginning...

auditorium.

The party officials have been introduced, the Pledge
of Allegiance spoken, and the National Anthem sung!

5. The 'Guv is now speaking...

He was greeted by the crowd holding a sea of signs thanking
him and the 'Legg for supporting marriage equality.

7. Terie Norelli,, our Speaker of the House is now speaking.

On stage with her is the State Rep who just switched from
R to D, Jim McCay. He just got a standing ovation from
the crowd.

Terie is speaking of the Republicans and how they can cling
to their outdated ideas while Democrats represent the future.

8. The state president of the AFL is now speaking...

Reminding folks why unions are still both
important and relevant.

9. Sylvia Larsen, the President of the State Senatecis now speaking.

She's discussing the challenges of *ACTUALLY GOVERNING*
in tough times, as employment falls and the need for government
services rises. She's contrasting the Republicans' naive call for
"across the board" budget cuts versus the needs of real people.

10. Rat Buckley, our openly-gay party chair, is now speaking.

One of the things he reminded us of is that *FOR THE FIRST
TIME IN HISTORY*, in the Granite State, the birthplace of the
Republican Party, there are now more registered *DEMOCRATS*
than Republicans.

And now he's speaking of our upcoming removal of our one
significant Republican official, US Senator Judd "the Dudd"
Gregg.

11. Now Paul Hodes, our 2nd CD Congressman and after 2010, likely US Senator

replacing Judd "the Dudd" Gregg.

Hodes always gives a real stemwinder, so I'm
going to listen and not blog his speech.

12. He just called for *FEDERAL MARRIAGE EQUALITY*!!!! (NT)
