and I hope you will too. Kentucky has no Democratic Senators. Help us change that.

Louisville, KY - UFCW Local 227, Teamsters Local 89, Jefferson County Teachers Association (JCTA), UFCW IN-KY State Council, UFCW Distillery Workers Council, UFCW Chemical Workers Council and Teamsters Joint Council 94 released the following statement today endorsing Attorney General Jack Conway for U.S. Senate:

Working families in Kentucky deserve new leadership in the U.S. Senate. Attorney General Jack Conway's commitment to education, protecting Kentucky families and recruiting high quality jobs to our Commonwealth will provide us with the leadership we need for positive change in Kentucky and America.

"Democrats in Kentucky have a tough choice between two great candidates for U.S. Senate," said UFCW Local 227 President Gary K. Best. "Kentuckians need a new generation of leadership, and Local 227 believes Jack Conway will provide that leadership as United States Senator."

1. He's a Vast Improvement over Senator Bunning Aesthically Speaking!
A polite way of saying "he sure is the pretty"...But seriously, as a native Kentuckian (but no longer living there), I say it's high time we got a Democratic Senator again. Good luck Jack!

3. My sister worked for him a few years ago. She's a big supporter now.
She's also a sucker for a pretty face.

2. Good luck to you
one of the last bastions of redness, Kentucky. Bunning is a tool.
Post this on all the other websites as well.

7. Does that make you sad?
Ha.

This was the first election my mom voted for a president younger than she was. It was tough for her.

:D

8. Not sad at all. The Vietnam war and the sixties radical movement colored
everything. It took a really bad baby boom president to convince America it was time for fresh ideas.

11. Better, sure.
But better doesn't necessarily mean good.

12. No, but it is Kentucky.
So I don't think we could ask for anyone better than Conway.

13. Well, I live in Kentucky
and I'm asking for someone better than Jack Conway. PLEASE!

As you said, though, it is Kentucky.

14. I know your pain.
I'm in Utah.

Our lone Democratic congressman doesn't do anything.

He'll straddle the fence on key issues, unless he's forced to vote with the Democrats.

No spine.

15. Conway, Lewellen, or Chandler? How about Mary Lou Marzian?

16. Of that group, probably Luallen.
though I have questions whether she could win a statewide race. I tend to think she could. I doubt Marzian could win statewide. Conway is a well connected and vapid pretty boy with neither vision or courage; he's short on ideas, but long on ambition and money. The unfortunate bottom line is that even should a Dem win that race, it is going to be an ultra-conservative Dino type Dem.

I guess I'd prefer George Clooney; not that he could win anyway, but at least he'd offer some strong differing opinions on issues that kentuckians don't ususally hear from their pols.

17. Clooney is smart as a whip. Mary Lou has solid credentials when it comes
to healthcare and women's issues.
