The GOP list
Props to a dear friend of mine for this:

They gave us –

The Great Depression

The McCarthy era (Young Americans really need to go back into their history books to understand what a terrifying, Unconstitutional time that was.)

Watergate and the only President, Richard Nixon, to resign in disgrace. His Vice President, Spiro Agnew, went to jail.

Iran/Contra

The “Ditto-heads” who are too stupid to think for themselves and instead follow the advice of a man who has failed at three marriages and was convicted for doctor shopping for drugs

And now this –

A President incompetent beyond belief

The worst terrorist attack ever to hit America, perpetrated on his Watch, while he ignored the Presidential Daily Briefing that warned it was coming.

The war he lied us into.

Systematic attacks on the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Condoning torture and secret prisons.

The aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the incompetence of its recovery efforts, and the lack of compassion for its victims.

The mortgage debacle and the economy crisis.

The destruction of our image internationally.

The energy crunch.

His Vice President’s refusal to list the sources of the Administration’s energy “policy.”

And now this man, who never served his country in combat, terms service on the front line in Afghanistan “romantic.”

Ronald Reagan’s “trickle down” theories have worked better than he ever imagined. With someone as unfit as George W. Bush running the show for eight years, the damage has trickled down to everyone but W.’s “rich friends’ and most especially his oil buddies.

I hope the people of the Gulf Coast remember Bush’s response after Katrina. It took him five days to show any concern at all, and then only with a fly over. Remember what he was doing? John McCain is the man whom, along with his family, the Bush Bunch’s campaign trashed in 2000, ! In the days after Katrina, Bush was too busy helping McCain celebrate the latter’s birthday. McCain, who now wants to be President, could have shown he had the “right stuff” by rushing to the Gulf Coast, showing a modicum of interest and taking some action in the Senate. But instead, he preferred to schmooze with his former adversary, the better to get on the candidate short list of the traitorous GOP.

Given this horrid history, one has to wonder whether most Republican officials even give a a plug nickel about the United States of America.

What a gang they are! The writers of The Sopranos couldn’t have dreamed up a more frightening and odious bunch of hoodlums!
