Poll: 52% of Israeli's support bombing Iran if international efforts fail

This is the other troubling side to the reselection of Ahmadinejad. An Iranian hardliner will not be helpful in averting this attack.

JERUSALEM (CNN) -- Roughly half of Israelis support bombing Iran's nuclear facilities if international efforts fail to stop the Islamic republic from developing nuclear weapons, according to a Hebrew University poll released Sunday.

I don't get the point of your obvious observation. Yeah, duh!

The thing is Israel may well attack Iran's nuclear facilities. That is potentially a big deal. It has a couple of consequences:

1. Full up war in the Middle East between Iran and Israel.

2. A dramatic increase in Iran's push to obtain nuclear weapons technology.

Perhaps 1. will be avoided simply because Iran may be unable to strike back but significant increase in long term tensions is not a small consequence either.
