A study in contrasts
Here I seat in my home, after a good 20 minute work out, cooling down.

While right on the other side of the world people are waking up for another day of active resistance.

They are desperate enough to do that.

We are not.

So while I will prepare dinner in a minute or so, and then go to the shower... some of these people are making their peace with their creator and family and friends, since they don't know if they will be alive by the time the sun goes down.

Just imagine that for a second.

And think what would it take for us to demonstrate to demand what we want in conditions that are far less severe or for that matter risky.

1. Fitness and protests...when I lived in Moscow in 1993, I made a point
of keeping up with my running despite the fact that Moscow is not runner-friendly in ANY way because I decided that the best way to get away from trouble was just to pick 'em up and put 'em down as fast as I could. I timed myself running from my apt. to the embassy and so forth. It certainly came in handy.

2. Of course and you did it when you were not properly motivated
if you were in the middle of trouble your times would have improved, trust me.

Still, it is amazing, isn't it?
