Infrastructure Emergency: Turn on History Channel immiediately!
Edited on Sun Jun-28-09 04:14 PM by Brigid
Important report on the dire state of America's infrastructure. All of it, from levees to bridges to sewers, is literally falling apart. If you doubt this, turn on History Channel right now! I think we can thank decades of the Republicans starving the federal and state government for funds to deal with this basic responsibility for the current mess. :grr:

4. You Are Right
We are on our own, but it is terribly expensive to to get off the grid. Hopefully as more of us pursue self sufficiency it will get less expensive.

5. I visit a bridge site
where they have photos of different US bridges, tell their history, etc. It is amazing how many bridges still in use, with hundreds or even thousands of crossings per day are structurally insufficient. There are some whose rating is danger of imminent collapse that have still been used.
