yesterday there was speculation that the Sam Seder show is going off the air:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=389&topic_id=590554&mesg_id=590554

I'm listening to Friday's (yesterdays) show. He hasn't mentioned anything about it, has talked about next week's programming, etc...

the above thread says that he "just announced this is his last week..."

when in the show does he say that?

on HuffPo, I believe, that Seder was doing his last show tonight and would only be doing very occasional Sunday shows in the future.

I must say, I have never seen a media concern ever expend so much effort to alienate its core audience, by getting rid of its established personalities with such abandon. They better have some good cards up their sleeves. Mighty good cards.

7. I don' know if Green was running for gov .
I know their are the Green brothers , one who has the money from real estate and the other who has some radio knowledge if I recall . They bought AAR .

However I do know Sam is fired and offered a sunday show which Malloy feels Sam will tell them to shove .

Trouble is radio is all about competition , ratings and time slots .

I don't car at all for Millers morning fun show but it seems many people do . I still feel variety is the best thing not one host taking over all the time slots and bumping out others .

in his current timeslot. Sounds as if they may be trying to find another slot? He's in an awful timeslot; he's up against Stephanie Miller & Stacy Taylor. I'd hate for Sam's voice to be silenced, and I think AAR will be making a huge mistake if they don't find an acceptable timeslot for him. Why can't he go back to evenings?

9. The Sam Seder Show to End
I have been paying attention to this for a while, and it is true. Sam's own blog confirmed it. Tarheel_Dem does make a good point. I think Sam would be good on evenings, but AAR is going through a few changes. (Sam may have his own plans that might fit best with a Sunday show.) Many stations are going with local shows or with Stephanie Miller. The morning slots have been problematic for AAR from the beginning of the network.

I have started a few threads elsewhere with information from a variety of sources, including the thread http://www.airamericaplace.com/boards/index.php?showtopic=21302">The Sam Seder Show to end April 13th over at http://www.airamericaplace.com">Air America Place and http://unfilterednewsnetwork.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=15948">The Sam Seder Show to end at the http://unfilterednewsnetwork.com/phpBB3/index.php">Unfiltered News Network message boards. (I linked to the blog for Friday's show in both threads.)

A few people have suggested contacting Sirius Left and asking them to put Sam Seder on the air. If you want to do that, you can contact Sirius Left as follows:
customercare@sirius.com
customercare@siriusradio.com

OR call: 1-888-539-SIRIUS (7474).

10. Thanks for the info...Will;
I know that this timeslot has been problematic for AAR, but I would prefer that they find an acceptable DAILY slot for Sam. He is one of the few AAR hosts who consistently takes on those whacky rightwing callers, and crushes them everytime.

I'm really gonna miss him. Hey, maybe he'll wind up over at NovaM with Mike Malloy? That'd be great too.

12. Glad to help
Hi, Tarheel.

I would like Sam to get a daily slot, but I think that the problem is that there are only three relatively safe hosts: Thom Hartmann, Randi Rhodes, and Rachel Maddow. Possibly, the brass at AAR does not want to commit to Sam Seder in the evening. (Someone at Air America Place said that Sam wanted a morning slot. He may want a Sunday slot.)

A friend over at UNN said that there is supposed to be a major announcement by Nova M at the one year anniversary party for KPHX. Mike Malloy has mentioned that someone big is signing a contract with Nova M but is not revealing details. I would not be half shocked if that person is either Sam Seder or Marc Maron.

15. More on Sam Seder's future at AAR
Sam Seder posted about his plans at AAR over on the http://www.majorityreportradio.com">The Majority Report blog.

Announcing my new Sunday Show

It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that this week will be the last week of the Sam Seder Show on Air America. As you know, Air America recently came out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy and the new management wants to go in a different direction with the 9-Noon (est) time slot. However, as much as I would like to spend more time with Alberto Gonzales’ family, he will be doing so shortly, freeing me up to do a Sunday afternoon show on Air America Radio. The show is tentatively known as Seder on Sundays and I am excited to get it started.

I am very proud of the three years I have broadcast on Air America Radio. I am particularly proud of the Sam Seder Show. We started the show as AAR was entering bankruptcy, when things around here were pretty hectic and insecure. The Sam Seder juggernaut, as no one but me called us, was able to maintain all of our affiliates that stayed with the progressive format through our bankruptcy. While it’s a bit early to judge, (our first full “book” is out in a couple of weeks) our ratings were looking pretty good and we dramatically increased AAR’s streaming numbers during this time slot. Most importantly, though, was the support and response we received from you, our audience. You'll never know just how helpful and motivating your comments, calls, emails and letters have been to me and my family and I greatly appreciate it.

I hope all of you will join me when I begin the Sunday show in the next month and a half or so. Of course, I’ll be maintaining this blog and continuing to promise to fix it. ( I mean it this time, I am serious!) I actually have some rather large plans for this site and its offerings but am not prepared to discuss them at the moment.

Anyway, over the next week I’ll be posting more about my plans, this site, Seder on Sundays and reflecting upon the last three years.

My email address is posted in the left hand column of this blog— drop me an email if you want to receive updates in the future. And tune in this week! I really don’t know how I am going to break this to Dewey.

11. here is the confusing bit Gary
If you look at the NEW lineup at KPOJ, they show Sam in the evening. But Malloy confirmed Sam's termination Friday.

I don't know WTF to think.

13. KPOJ speculations
I think KPOJ may have made the line up and announced it before Sam Seder's announcement. I think that this will present KPOJ and some other stations with a few decisions to make. (Maybe they will carry Mike Malloy live?)
