More from the "lib'rul media"...
...Britain's humiliation will embolden Iran

Are they getting this stuff straight from Rove's desk?

2. I fear that this is the case
I fear that some people are just repeating Rove's talking points. However, this is not surprising considering the editorial boards of some newspapers. (I was a reporter, and I found many of the owners and editors to be conservative. At one paper I worked at, the 1992 Clinton endorsement was a rare endorsement for a Democratic presidential candidate.)

3. Well, I'm currently an associate editor...
...for an alternative newspaper (circ. 20,000) in the same town as the paper that printed that editorial. That particular periodical has an editorial board so beholden to moneyed interests and ethically corrupt it is infuriating. I know several of the people that work there at a variety of levels and the stories they tell are certainly eye-opening. I've heard similar tales from journalists at other outlets around the nation.

The myth of the liberal media is one of the most pervasive in a culture laced with them. Media outlets today are corporations and businesses first, and participants in democracy second.

4. Business interests
As many media corporations have business before the administration, there is a reluctance to make waves. I think that we need to have media reform acted on in Congress. When a handful of companies control the message, public discourse becomes harder.

5. What if that same handful of companies...
...have undue influence in Congress as well?

6. Media reform
There is already a proposal to address the issue of media consolidation, and many people in Congress have spoken up on this issue. I will try to post some links a little later.

7. An Alabama newspaper is supposed to be liberal? Since when? NT
