Charlotte Observer calls Evangelical Seminary to task for inviting Coulter to speak
Hands over ears! Ann Coulter is coming to town

The Southern Evangelical Seminary in Matthews has had some explaining to do. Officials invited potty-mouthed Ann Coulter to speak next month, and her behavior often isn't particularly church-like. Her gutter language, personal attacks -- last month she called N.C. Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards a "faggot" -- and venomous diatribes against all things liberal, or that she perceives as liberal, draw condemnation even from some who share her politics.

Seminary president Alex McFarland defends inviting her: "Who among us hasn't said something intemperate from time to time?"

True. But isn't there a biblical edict about seeking forgiveness for your transgressions?

Not Ann Coulter. She doesn't think anything she says or does is wrong. Someone who does no wrong? Uh, who does she think she is?

2. Are they inviting someone
whose views are opposite hers, for balance?

If not, they are even more wrong to do this.

I had heard of this assclown's lawsuit, and had forgotten about it.

The S.C. Supreme Court recently tossed out a $50 million lawsuit by Lexington County, S.C., barbecue maker Maurice Bessinger against several stores for refusing to sell his products.

He claimed the retailers engaged in unfair trade practices by conspiring to violate his right to free speech when they pulled his barbecue sauce from their shelves in 2000. At the time Mr. Bessinger was flying the Confederate flag above his Piggie Park headquarters and distributing literature that said black slaves "blessed the Lord" for their enslavement and for being brought to America.

The defendants were Bi-Lo, Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Kroger, Publix, Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Winn-Dixie and Piggly Wiggly stores.

:woohoo:

4. Her latest disgusting diatribe says...

"These people can't even wrap up genocide. We've been hearing about this slaughter in Darfur forever — and they still haven't finished. The aggressors are moving like termites across that country. It's like genocide by committee. Who's running this holocaust in Darfur, FEMA?

This is truly a war in which we have absolutely no interest."

And...

"If you want a shorter rebuilding process, then we're going to have to wage less humane wars. The enemy — as well as innocent civilians — must be bombed into quivering terror. Otherwise, we displace aggression but don't destroy it."

This degenerate slag is to speak to Evangelicals. And they are aligned with whom... Satan? :puke:

8. If I had to listen to Coulter

I'd probably say a few intemperate things too. In fact they'd probably be very intemperate (but I'd refrain from insulting her appearance - seriously - her putrid mind deserves the insults, she can help that, she can't help her carcass).

6. the first editorial was scary as hell, too. Be afraid, be very afraid...

Just when you think you've heard it all, comes word that President Bush has named Susan Dudley director of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs at the White House Office of Management and Budget. That makes her the nation's regulatory czar -- and she takes a dim view of a lot of rules and regulations.

The L.A. Times notes she supports doing away with air pollution controls and quotes her as proposing instead an alert system "so that sensitive individuals can take appropriate `exposure avoidance' behavior" such as staying indoors on days when the air is bad outside.

She also opposes mandatory airbags, arguing that they should be available only to people who want to pay the price.

And she thinks the government has too stringent regulations on arsenic in water, the paper said. Those regulations "overvalued some lives, particularly those of older people with a small life expectancy," the Times reported.

9. Another hand picked captive audience, that explains a lot right there....
If these people were truly Christian and showed up at all, with the first venom spewed, they should get up silently and walk out the door. But I fear these people will all to eagerly gulp down the message she has...:(

10. Southern? This doesn't make sense.
I can't see the religion majors I went to college with putting up with someone like her very well. Those people were very outspoken, and while most were very conservative and Repubs to boot, they didn't suffer fools like her very well and had no trouble speaking up in class to denounce someone's behavior.

It could be interesting to watch.

Edited on Sun Apr-08-07 06:53 PM by rasputin1952
or if this is a political 'rally' at a church, there can be some very interested people at the IRS that might look into this...:)
