Just caught a few minutes of Fox and Friends talking about Sarah

I am in a hotel and went down to the lobby for coffee. Noticed the teevee tuned to Fox. They were going on about Sarah Palin. I thought great they are probably talking about the divorce rumors.

But no. Story was Sarah's failure to update her Facebook page or send out any Tweets since she resigned. They were reading messages left on her FB page by her wingnut fans. Not worth repeating here, BTW.

Then I picked up a newspaper and the headline was a story about the missing pilot from Gulf War I whose remains were found in Iraq. Another story about the American tourists being held in Iran.

Glanced back at Fox and they were reading Tweets from Sarah's supporters. Then they mention the divorce rumors and go back to FB messages left for Sarah.

Makes me wonder just who started this divorce rumor.

Oh and yes I did complain to the hotel about blasting Fox in the lobby. They switched to another channel.

ON EDIT. Shit, it is Scott.

Damn. It's been a long time.

Cheney ended the war and didn't go looking for him. A lot of us didn't like that decision.

He grew up in KC. I am in Wichita and I guess this story has more of a local angle. But still, reading FB messages for Sarah passes for news??

but I will say that I am devastated even though I knew it was so.

This is a "tough one." I remember how Big Dick Cheney was way too quick to end the war and, in order to wrap up loose ends and not ruin the victory parades, to declare the guy dead--KIA. And the NYT piece is WRONG (gee, shock). It was BILL CLINTON who put him back on the MIA rolls, I believe as MIA-Status Unknown (that happened WAY earlier than 01--there was another technical status change then--MIA Presumed Dead, I think--but that was not the first one)--that's how Scott got shot down as a LCDR and managed to be declared dead as a CAPT.

I'm just bummed about this. We all knew it, but it's still difficult news. His wife remarried long ago. She knew it too. It still has to be a sad day all around.
