hmm I got the earthquake sensor installed on fireforx so every time there is a quake
the window shakes.

Folks take a look at this

http://earthquake.usgs.gov/

The ring of fire is absolutely going nuts. We have had so many 5+, and even a few 7+ quakes in the Eastern Pacific that it is amazing.

2. I know but Japan has had a few 6+ over the last three days
the Marianas trench has also been going nuts.

There is a predicted increase in quakes with global warming as the ice caps melt and less pressure on the land... I have to wonder. Add to that the ones last week at the Sea of Cortes. Like it is going around the circle of fire.

6. Yup.
The lastest 6+ woke me up this morning at 5am...not too bad here near Tokyo (enough to wake me up though anyway), but in Shizouka (the epicenter), it looks pretty scary from TV reports!

3. That's cool. I may load that.
The last time we had a tsunami warning, I only knew because I was on DU. Someone forgot to check the fax machine at the Hall of Justice and San Francisco wound up getting exactly 15 minutes of warning.

5. Hey, I'll build you a quake detector for free.
Or you can do it yourself: tie a rock to a piece of string and hang it from the ceiling. If it starts shaking all over the place, dive under your desk and whimper.

;-)

15. The parrots just start going nuts and screeching to no end
the last one at night, the nanday got very vocal for three hours AFTER the sun went down. He goes to sleep at five or so...

I went WTF is wrong with this bird... until the land started moving.

Then I had to CALM three birds down.

Pets are amazing, aren't they?
