A lesson learned by the Imus situation.
As of today Imus's program has gone off MSNBC for good. Who do you believe got this done? The people who called the advertisers threatening to boycott them if Imus continued on MSNBC.

Even some companies decided to stop advertising on Imus's radio program for good and again people threatened to stop buying from these advertisers to Imus's radio program.

Can we do no less for the sponsors of the REPUBLICAN party which appears the most classist, racist, ageist organization and which causes death because they thwart regulation of food, medicine, automobiles, mines, cuts benefits of elderly and disabled people and threatens worker unions and salary?

Boycott Republican contributors.

1. Lesson? Sponsors don't wanna be associated with university bashing.
Especially a university in the environs of New York.

2. and who did this? The people forced them to do this.

As much as racism appears a serious problem, doesn't it appear just as serious when an organization as the Republican Party institutionalizes death, racism, classism, and hardship to middle and lower class people and shouldn't we as a people start telling the Republican sponsors to stop funding them and petitioning the sponsors of the Republican party for legislation as the sponsors depend on our money?

3. Boycotts do indeed work
Edited on Wed Apr-11-07 07:20 PM by Bluzmann57
As a Union person, I have knowledge of this. Many years ago, almost every Union in the USA put a certain food processing company on an all out boycott for refusal to bargain in good faith, and some other things. Now this company is a good corporate citizen and has arguably the best canned food and meat products out there. I am not going to reveal the company here, but like I say, boycotts do work. But I have to tell you, I do not think I can boycott both CVS and Walgreens, as my insurance covers prescriptions from these drug store chains. Medicine can be very important. But I will do my level best to boycott all the others on your list. Wal Mart and Dominos are easy. Haven't set foot in a Wal Mart in around 10 years or so, and Dominos tastes like cardboard with ingredients.

4. Yes, but you can still boycott their consumer products.
Edited on Wed Apr-11-07 07:24 PM by liberaldemocrat7
You can still boycott consumer products and still buy your medications from the pharmacies you remain stuck with and call these companies to tell them why and demand from them the legislation the Republicans refused to give us.

Oh and it does not appear enough to silently boycott these companies, but you need to send the legislative demands to these companies and tell them you boycott their products.

5. Unless hosts like Hannity,Beck,Savage,O'reilly and Slimebaugh
are held accountable and actions taken against them for their comments then the firing of Imus was too severe..there cannot be a double standard here..Nothing will ever happen to these right wing hosts because of the corporate support of this President and his incompetent administration.
