I would then start watching the show again.
I mean, can we please get rid of that mamby pamby David Gregory?

1. It would be nice, but Maddow's overt political leanings wouldn't allow it to happen.
MTP would further lose credibility.

3. You're probably right on that
But I wish there was someone other than Gregory, who has always seemed like a Republican pretending to be impartial.

6. Yes... while I think she is no more biased than Russert was
or certainly, Gregory, now, the fact she came up through partisan talk radio probably excludes her... Ironic fallacy....

2. That would be soooo nice
And Rachel seems to have developed a strong following in a pretty short time.

4. Rachel has more time and more freedom with her own show
The format of MTP is that the host is allowed to ask the questions - but not express their own opinion.

5. Not so sure that doesn't happen now
Gregory manages to express his own opinion through the questions he DOESN'T ask gop guests. And his total lack of follow up to embarrassing answers.

As well as the enthusiasm with which he pounds on Democratic guests.

His demeanor says more than any words he could possibly use.

8. I want them to go back to the panel of 4-6 reporter interviewers.
One person is not 'The Press'

9. Lawrence O'Donnel
I think that Rachel is doing great work where she is. I have long thought that L.O. would be good for MTP

12. Totally agree.
LO needs his own forum. He would go light years toward reestablishing MTP's reputation.

10. Yes, and they should do it. She isn't biased either. She has republicans on her show
and gives them a chance to talk, much more than Olbermann. She would ask tough questions of both GOP and Dems. But I do worry that joining a NBC corporate granddaddy like MTP as a moderator she would have to temper her own opinions? Maybe it would be best for her to just keep her own show.

11. What I wish for Rachel is...
a second hour of her current show, AND an expanded research department. Then, just sit back and enjoy!

13. She would be AWESOME as the moderator of MTP. Excellent suggestion!
David "dim bulb" Gregory is a JOKE.

14. She buries Gregory in every way as an interviewer. It would be the smart move.
Which is exactly why it probably won't happen. Media conglomerates rarely make really good decisions like that. Exhibit: Katie Couric.
