A DU Manifesto: What to do about it all? --in honor of Kurt Vonnegut
This is intended as a COLLECTIVE MANIFESTO made up of DU's best and simplest suggestions for fixing a country gone wrong--and putting it back on the right track, toward the progressive and enlightened principles that were at the heart of Kurt Vonnegut's work, and that he championed all his life, after his own war experience in WW II. His genius was that he made us laugh at ourselves, and at this imperialist monster that we were becoming, as country. What a trick! Is that enough? Just to know yourself? Maybe not. So, how do we fix it?

Be brief. Be pithy. Be funny, if possible. Here's mine...

THE KURT VONNEGUT MEMORIAL MANIFESTO BY THE DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND: What to do about it all?

1. If you count ordinary peoples' votes--I mean, really count them--you will likely find a collective wisdom there, that is lacking in the corridors of power where the screams of the tortured and the slaughtered drown out even basic common sense, let alone wisdom. It's worth a try anyway.

1. 2. Take care of each other.
Now that Kurt's in heaven. ;>)

(It's a joke from A Man Without a Country, if you don't know.)

Starve the war machine, and starve the multinational corporations.
