I want to know. Where is the Republican health plan?
Edited on Wed Aug-26-09 11:02 PM by kentuck
What do they say about universal coverage? Do they think every American should be able to go to a doctor if they get sick?

What do they say about portability? If you lose or leave your job, do they believe you should be able to take your coverage with you to your next job?

What about costs? Are they satisfied with 10% increases or more every year in health insurance costs? How do they plan to bring it down other than by "tort reform"? Those lawyers support Democrats, don't you know?

What about pre-existing conditions? Do they have a plan where someone with a pre-existing condition cannot be denied coverage by insurance companies? Also, do they have a plan where they are not priced out of the market?

What about a public option? How do they plan on creating competition? Do they think letting insurance companies compete across state lines will open up competition? Are they willing to open insurance companies up to trust and monopoly violations? Are they willing to put regulations on big insurance companies?

For weeks and months, all I've heard is criticism of the Democratic plans. They are socialistic. They cost too much. They are going to pull the plug on Grandma, etc. Now, I want to hear what their plan is to fix healthcare in this country. I want to hear the media challenge them just the way they have challenged the Democrats.

1. If it was up their ass they'd know about it
Edited on Wed Aug-26-09 11:05 PM by HughMoran
Really, this is a joke huh?

I love how they tell concerned citizens they're going to help them in their town halls, but they have no plan and no intentions of offering one.

Ass holes.

4. I think kind of questions need to be asked of them..
We need to put them on the defensive. Make them show their cards. They have no solutions. They only know they don't want what the Democrats are offering. Problem? What problem?

10. GOP plan is Single Prayer Health care followed by Alaskan funeral
You can make a single prayer for a quick death and failing that, walk off into the woods to be eaten by bears.

12. health plan?
They don't even know there's a problem! It really should be painfully obvious they don't give a shit about any of us, but somehow millions of Americans can't seem to grasp that.

16. All that's needed is to eliminate malpractice judgments apparently.
That would do the trick according to those knuckle heads. They have nothing to back this up except the good word of backwater AM radio shit-stirrers.

17. I'll tell you where the Republican healthcare plan is...
Edited on Wed Aug-26-09 11:29 PM by CoffeeCat
It's in a folder, sitting on the desk of the largest insurance lobbying groups.

The plan is one sentence, "We must continue to profit immensely from the health
(or lack thereof) of the American people, and we must remain the powerbrokers
and decision makers when it comes to individual healthcare decisions".

18. S. 1324: Health Care Freedom Act of 2009
Edited on Wed Aug-26-09 11:30 PM by SergeyDovlatov
Here is one:

S. 1324: Health Care Freedom Act of 2009

http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/getdoc.cgi?dbname=111_cong_bills&docid=f:s1324is.txt.pdf

I only scanned through it quickly, seems like the usual stuff:

  • tax credits
  • medical savings account
  • tort limitations
  • allow buying insurance across state lines
  • block grants to states to deal with patients with preexisting conditions
  • save money by cutting unspent TARP funds
