Which Dems do you think are "quick thinkers" on their feet?
It occurred to me that in addition to contacting my own Congress critters, I'd like to contact the Dems who are fast thinkers - with quick responses & accurate facts - to fight for Health Care Reform. It isn't just the absurd death panel, socialism crap of the Conservatives or the media whores that defeat or water down Progressive Issues, but (I think) that many of the Dems who make the TV rounds frankly aren't up to the job.

When I think of passion, humor, occasional snark, courage & quick, accurate response, two come to mind: Rep. Barney Frank & Rep. Anthony Wiener.

Who else do you think I (or we) should contact? I realize they can't carry the Schumers & flea-bitten Blue Dogs on their backs all the time, but this fight is important. It's being watered down again by Prosticrats, Prostipubs & lobbyists.

Who else do you think are "Big League" debaters/reps?

2. Durbin is good on his feet
Boxer definitely is, hell many of them are good, but mind you not many as good as Barney Franks or Anthony Wiener as you state.

3. While I don't think Rockefeller is a 'quick thinker', he has proved
to be passionate about health care reform. I think Sherrod Brown might fit that bill, too. I find it amazing that many of the people who could make the positive case for health care reform are not asked.
That could be due to the recess. Maybe more of the hc reformers will be front-and-center by next week.

5.  Bernie Sanders
OK, I know he is not a Democrat, but I'd sure want him on my side in any free flowing discussion.

6. Dems town halls
Edited on Mon Aug-31-09 11:25 AM by roakes10190
I've been amazed at all the Dems I've seen at their town hall meeting. There's one that repeats on c-span with a Rep named Gerry something and he was on the ball. Jim Moran surprised me at his townhall with Dean. What I had seen of him in hearings, I wasn't too impressed, but I was pleased with his handling of the issues. He had a big chart that displayed health care myths, each followed by the facts. I don't think the problem is that most Dems aren't smart enough; the problem is that some are owned by Pharma and private health care insurers.

I was not happy with Gene Taylor, from my own state Mississippi. He said upfront that he would not vote for health care reform the Dems want. I understand that he's in a very red state and I think that has more to do with what each Cong critter supports than his true beliefs or morals. The only answer to this recurring problem is public financing of elections.
