Was this common? I always laughed at seeing him enter (the last few times I saw him) with his wife, and the dogs were there.

Then I read the 'pups' were there a lot.

Does anyone else in (ok) Congress feel the same way about their love for dogs?

1. One Senator - Wayne Morse -
had a parrot in his office. Meanest fucking thing you ever saw, but Senator Morse was nuts about him.

Some legislators sometimes have dogs with them, but not regularly, not like Senator Kennedy did. It was lovely, how he always had them there. He loved them so much...............................

2. What Has Happened To Splash And Sunny?
I imagine they're with Vicki. I wonder if they were with Teddy at the end? The funeral? Just curious. I know he loved his dogs.

6. Yes, they do. I hope the whole family went back to Hyannis for the
last week of the summer and love Vicki and those dogs up!

What a family to marry in to! And they loved Vicki.

15. I wasn't referring to Ted Kennedy in particular. I'm referring to a generality of
all our Representatives on both sides. I understand there are those like Kennedy and Kucinich and Sanders, etc. who are good guys and work for the betterment of all people.

However, if all of them went in with the mentality that all Americans should enjoy their workplace as much as they've perked themselves. I think many are rich and don't want to share their portion. Or some feel they are above and deserve their station more than others do.

My response was not directly intended for disrespecting Kennedy. He was a good guy. I've defended him greatly down here in FL when every dumb ass puke wants to talk about Chappa(abrv) incident. I've said he's done more to redeem himself and do better for this country than had he not been where he was in the Senate all these years. Throwing him away to rot in a jail cell and keep him from making law all these years would have left us with a lesser country.

Our dog grieved terribly when my father died. He was soooo sad. Wouldn't eat or play. He also developed separation anxiety, which was never a problem before. We were so worried ... the vet put him on antidepressants for about three months. It helped, but the separation anxiety never went away completely. It lasted until he died seven years later. :-(

I'm sure the family will help them through it. They know how important those dogs were to Ted. :-)

14. My mom and dad had a terrier mutt. My aunt and uncle (her sister) had a German Shepherd mix
They lived two hours apart, but the two dogs were amazingly bonded. My mother's dog would get all excited about ten minutes before my aunt and uncle would arrive for visits. My mother stopped mentioning it, thinking she was tipping off her dog. It didn't matter. The dog never failed to know her BFF was near.

When my aunt had to put her dog down for old age, my mother's dog, who was even older, knew that too. From two hours away. She was clearly sad, even as nothing could have tipped her off. She just know. And this was *before* my aunt called my mother to give her the sad news.

When my aunt and uncle next came to visit, my mother's dog spent the entire visit trying to sit in their laps, or next to them, or licking them.

Teddy's dogs, while they worked on the education bill. They chased themselves silly on those weekenders.

8. Wouldn't it be wonderful to have such a grand work place like they have made for themselves.
If all Americans had that many wonderful luxeries on the job, America would be a much friendlier and happier place. Imagine if your company had a gym you could go to anytime, allow you to bring in a pet, or to take a month long vacation, or to have guaranteed healthcare, or have a great retirement pkg. If our representatives took care of the American people like they take care of themselves, this would be a damn fine country.

Its too bad they have that mentality that they are somehow above or more special than others.. so "fuck off" proles.. when the reality is they are supposed to be our employees.

12. Nasty as you wanna be. Google Ted Kennedy and New Orleans.
He passed a law where pets were part of the family.
It's too bad you have a shitty attitude.
