On the "Keep them home" topic/ Obama's speech et al...
Every district receives an "ADA" (Average Daily Allowance) for each day a student is present.
The school loses the money if a student is absent.
I think all who protest what is happening with the "opt-out" crap should keep their kids home and call their school boards to let them know they are voting with their wallets at the very notion that a Presidential speech is being given "optional participation" by their district.
Hit them where it hurts. $$$$$$$$.
If I had a school aged child, that is how I would fight them on this ridiculous issue.
1. BTW, ADA is "Average Daily Attendance". I wondered about your idea and I think...
...it's a good one, but only in the schools that have forbidden showing it.
I'm less worried about the schools that allow parents to opt out, I don't think the boycott helps in these cases because it will be the freeper kids who are absent and thus look like they have stupid parents.
