Rush Limbaugh and other conservatives still have issues with Obama's speech to students
Edited on Tue Sep-08-09 04:08 PM by DainBramaged
One really must question if President Obama can do anything right in the opinion of some conservatives. In the video clips below conservative commentators Rush Limbaugh and Joe Watkins both attack President's speech despite it being, in Limbaugh's own words, 100% conservative.

Joe Watkins complaint is that the President is just too persuasive to speak to children and that in the future the President may talk to children about gay marriage. First Watkins "slippery slope" argument is ridiculous. Watkins gives no support for his assertion that the President will ever go further in making remarks to children. Secondly, Watkins essentially argues the President may only speak to children if he is boring and unpopular. In that case Watkins should have been a full fledged supporter of President Bush speaking to children.

Limbaugh's argument is one being made by many other conservatives today. Limbaugh without a shred of evidence argues that the supposed original Obama address was going to be indoctrination but that the speech was subsequently changed because of criticism. Limbaugh also argues that the speech is not in fact what President Obama believes in when it comes to conservative values.

Limbaugh's points illustrate how the President can never do anything positive in view of the conservative commentator. If the President says something Limbaugh disagrees with Limbaugh proceeds to attack him as a socialist and liberal. If the President says something Limbaugh does agree with then the President "doesn't believe what he is saying."

I was very critical of President Bush but I gave the man credit for doing some things right. When President Bush urged Americans to unite I did not say "he doesn't believe that" but instead reasonably conceded that even a Republican president can be right some of the time. Limbaugh and commentators like Watkins destroy whatever credibility they do have by never giving a Democratic president credit for anything.

Joe Watkins is simply an asshole, like all of his GopTurd buddies.

1. I certainly can understand how Rush feels.
I don't believe anything Rush says. Rush doesn't like Obama and I don't like Rush.

4. Watkins, Limbaugh et al. can never resist the good ole' double-down.
Proved wrong? Burrow down even further into idiotic declarations that will yet again be proved wrong.

Rinse. Repeat.

5. Limbaugh is the main propaganda pimp for the right wing
WHat is really amazing is that there are actually folks that believe his lies. It is astounding.

7. You are talking about the stoopidest people on the face of the earth
They believe ANYTHING a rich, drug-addled sex deviant tells them. Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

6. "in the future the President may talk to children about gay marriage. "
I can personally assure Watkins that President Obama will NEVER speak to school children about gay marriage, except, perhaps, to condemn it.

9. "One must really question..." Only a stupid one. There is no question. They will continue to attempt
to incite assassination or civil war until they get it.
