MSNBC WH Reporter says Obama will do "Six Week Road Show" to Promote his Health Care Plan
Edited on Wed Sep-09-09 10:54 AM by KoKo

And she says that Pelosi is saying Public Option is still there but if "anyone has a better idea we want to hear it." Pelosi and Reid were at a podium..but they only showed Pelosi's comment.

The WH Reporter (Savannah Guthrie) said that there are many proposals still under discussion.

So, we have Six More Weeks of TeaBaggers and *Discussion* before anything emerges to be voted on, it sounds like. I wonder what this will accomplish..dragging it on like this.

How can he sell what isn't really even a Bill yet?

What good does going out and jawboning the crowds do? The Health Care Reform is already being billed as "Public Option" vs. "No Gubmint in my Health Care." That's the framing. Whose minds will be changed by having big rallies with the Tea Baggers lined up for the the MSM to report on while those who have supported Obama in rallies all over the country get no coverage? I was at a huge rally supporting Heath Care Reform at our State Capitol a couple of weeks ago with almost a thousand people and 60 Tea Baggers across the street. The local coverage showed a short two minute clip with mostly photo's of the 60 TeaBaggers shouting and a few shots of the mass of crowds with signs in support of reform.

So, this "road show" will go on for six more weeks. Meanwhile the "Tea Baggers" have a huge rally in DC planned for September 12 in DC. We could plan one for the week after with millions there and the press would ignore it.

Anyway...let's see what he can do...but rousing speeches all over the country for a health care plan that no one knows what will finally be in it doesn't sound very productive.

1. We need to get the crowds out to this to show the demand for public option is strong
We need to tell all those that went to see him during the campaign need to get out one more time for this.

4. Maybe it's time to demand Medicare as a public option and
make sure they know we really want single payer but are willing to settle for a public option that is single payer since the bar was set low to begin with. Also, there is no choice if you can't choose. One of the rumors out there is that you won't be able to get the public option if your employer hasn't gotten it for you. That's not choice.

3. My apologies to the Secret Service
With crazy idiots now bringing fire arms to Presidential events, I can't help but be concerned for Obama's safety. Having said that, I'll go to any event I can get to and show my support.

7. WHAT HEALTH CARE PLAN? I have yet to hear a PLAN, just a bunch of waffling, triangulating bullshit
Perhaps tonight will be the "big night" when Obama actually details what HIS plan is, i.e. what must be in an health reform bill he will sign and not veto and what must not be in a health reform bill he will sign and not veto.

But I think we all know that's not likely to happen, don't we?

So six more weeks of bullshit, six more weeks of fringe conservatives and multi billion dollar insurance lobbies dominating the conversation. You know what's happened to health reform each and every week this is stretched out? It's gotten more and more pathetic.

So here we go again....
