I'm sick of these 10th Amendment crybabies
It makes me fucking sick to my stomach whenever I hear some right-winger whining and crying about the Tenth Amendment. Usually it's because they hate the idea of the federal government trying to HELP people - they think that the feds should stay the fuck out, and that individual states should be allowed to fuck people over as much as they want.

But these same mouth-breathers conveniently ignore the rest of the constitution, with the exception of their precious 2nd Amendment, which allows them to stockpile arms so that they can overthrow the government in their wet fantasies. They trample all over the First Amendment, wanting to enshrine Christianity as the official state religion and stifle any other religious expression. They get all pissed off whenever some "activist judge" tells them they can't force students to pray in school - you know, actually supporting the Constitution. They have no problem whatsoever ignoring those pesky parts of the Constitution prohibiting cruel and unusual punishment, or illegal search & seizure. It's okay for Bush to eavesdrop on American citizens without a warrant, because by golly, we're at war with terrah. And they sure as hell don't care if the President walks all over Congress, ordering US troops to WAR for year after year, costing thousands of American lives.

But goddammit, let Obama and Congress try to do something to improve the lives of American citizens, and they start waving around the Tenth Amendment as if it were some sacred text. And it is a sacred text, just as ALL of the Constitution should be sacred to ALL of us. But if these assholes are going to IGNORE everything else and take one solitary amendment out of context to try and fuck everyone over, then they can take that and shove it up their asses.

1. 10thers, birthers, teabaggers, "I want my country backers," & ......
.... the climate is not changing because of man's action-ers all fall into one group

LOSERS They can not handle the fact that a black man is; richer, smarter, has a hot wife, was a college Professor of Constitutional Law,
a best selling author, a legally elected President of the United States.

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
Whack jobs will try to read into this what they want it to say and not what it means as per the running of the government.

3. They interpret it to mean since the Constitution doesn't specifically state a Federal health plan
then there should never be a Federal health plan, leaving it up to the States to decide what to do.

7. It means that the laws and actions of the Federal Government have to be ....
Edited on Mon Sep-14-09 11:26 PM by Botany
...... Constitutionally valid and that the states have a right to make their own laws as long as they do
not supersede or "cross the line" as per the Constitutional law.

The tenth amendment's beauty is it's elasticity over many generations.

BTW ..... it is but to laugh @ these 10thers who claim a Professor of Constitutional Law from the University of Chicago (Obama)
would try to propose a law that was Unconstitutional.

4. So you think the Heller decision should be incorporated to all the states.

After all we can't have individual states screwing over the law abiding who want to own firearms.

5. Let me guess...
You ventured out of the Gun Forum, saw a thread that said "10th Amendment", and decided you wanted to hijack my thread and turn it into a gun debate.

Sorry, I'm not going to get into that with you this time. Discuss the OP, which is that people who whine about the 10th Amendment generally don't give a shit about the rest of the Constitution (except for the 2nd one).

8. Just wanted to see if you would avoid hypocrisy.
I've mostly been confronting the Truthers in the Sep. 11th forum. Although I did post a bunch of righteous shoots the other day just for fun.
