I remember us reaching 4,000 dead and then we "restarted" the count in Afghanistan where the numbers, I suspect, are still "low."

I was thinking about it when watching George Stephanopoulos', where he has a segment: "This week the Pentagon released the names of...." and I am looking at the names, from all over the country young and old, and I am thinking why?

4. I do not think most people care
Our conflicts in the middle east are not seen as "real" by most people. It is hardly ever on the news and you never hear people talking about it. I mean dude, we "officially" slaughtered about 100,000 Iraqi civilians, and that is only counting the ones that have been confirmed. There are thousands more people who are missing and uncounted for. That is 100,000 people who did not do shit. 100,000 people who the American government flat out murdered. Until the numbers start getting really high, no one is going to care about Afghanistan.

6. This is why some suggested to bring back the draft
then everyone would care about it.

We hear in the news about suicide bomb here and suicide bomb there - 10 of "coalition" forces, 100 on their way to a prayer and we just shrug.

And.. welcome to Du.

8. You can see how they slice the numbers so it is hard to find the actual figure.
Do we include Iraq and Afghanistan, total troops from all including the coalition? The number of contractors killed added to this is massive as well. So many men, women and children have fallen and the numbers just don't speak the language. Love and energy to the troops who are trying to make sense of all of this madness.
