7. I suppose that depends on what the dream is.
I am critical of the suburbs at times, but at others I think that they're nice and want to own a home there.

Depends on the mood du jour.

17. I was raised in among the burbiest of burbs, and then went to college in a "small" town...
I'm so glad grad school was in an actual city - life didn't really begin for me until then.

Different strokes for different folks, of course.

23. I like Seattle. It's a good mix.
Most of my friends live in Wallingford.

I live in San Francisco. Seattle would be a great environment for me in 3 years.

it's a place to live-- like any other place...full of lives, hopes, families, loves, hates, dramas, etc.

I imagine the set design is more important to many people than the story itself.

I deal with that very thing without a second thought. I imagine were I to live in any other style, there would be just as many things I'd have to organize my life around that may get tedious after a while should I allow it move me so.

Grass is always greener and all...

34. I've done both. The grass is greener for me in the city. Commuting by car
in Va. Beach and some parts of Maryland was a horrific waste of time, not to mention bad for the environment.

I've spent a chunk of time in Houston. What a nightmare.

Less so than in rural areas, maybe, but probably more so than in the city.

31. Suburbs are too artificial. Shopping and housing are too far apart.
Give me a small town center where you can have housing on the second and third floor with shops on the first, and licensed street vendors selling hotdogs and other goodies on the sidewalk.

Heck, when I lived in Salem, Massachusetts, there was literally a shop about 100 feet from my door. If I wanted some bread and milk or a snack, I was there. I didn't have to fight freaking gridlock to get to a superstore like with any town built post-invention of the car.

Boy was I wrong. I am moving back to the country, an hour from a big town with airport, big box stores, etc, but none of the crap we find in the burbs.

35. different strokes for different folks.

The city can crush the soul of someone who loves open spaces while the suburbs and rural areas can be a lonely experience for some.
