Prove John Boehner Wrong
John Boehner just issued a challenge.

Today, he told a reporter, "I'm still trying to find the first American to talk to who's in favor of the public option, other than a member of Congress or a member of the administration. I've not talked one and I get to a lot of places. I've not had anyone come up to me -- I know I'm inviting them -- and lobby for the public option. This is about as unpopular as a garlic milkshake."1

I'm emailing you today because you live in Ohio, and maybe even in Boehner's district. Thanks to you, Health Care for America Now is known in the media for responding quickly to events like this. Can you give him a call and tell him your an American and you support a public health insurance option?

Here's the number for Boehner's office in Washington:

(202) 225-6205

Give the office a call and say:

"I'm a real American from Ohio, and I support a public health insurance option. Congressman Boehner said he hasn't been able to find someone who supports the public option, so I'd like to speak with Congressman, introduce myself, and tell him why he should support it, too."

Thanks for proving Boehner wrong!

To your health,
Levana Layendecker
Health Care for America Now

P.S. If you're on Twitter, you can talk to Boehner directly. Just twitter @GOPLeader. Here's a sample tweet:

@GOPLeader I'm an American and I support the public health insurance option. #p2 #sickofit

18. Huh
So, if one of his constituents were to call his office right now, there would be no one to answer and no machine on which to leave a message? That certainly doesn't reflect well on him.

I believe you.

I'm just hoping that word gets out that not only was his office barraged with calls from P.O. supporters but that his people were so frustrated they stopped answering the phone. :)

28. his encounters with P.O. supporters probably go like this ...
P.O. person: "Hi, I'd like to talk to the Congressman?"

Administrative Assistant: "Sure thing. Size of campaign donation?"

P.O.P.: "I'm sorry, you don't understand, I want to talk to him about the Public Option."

A.A.: "Do you want him to send it down in flames?"

P.O.P.: "No. I want to be the person who tells him that I support the public option."

A.A.: "Hold on. I'll see if he's available."

picks up phone ... dials ...

A.A.: "Yes, Mr. Boehner. I have a person here who would like to talk to you about his support of the public option."

phone: "... 57 degress ... at the tone, the time will be ..."

A.A.: "Um-hm. I see."

phone: "beep ... the current temperature is ..."

A.A.: "I will tell him."

turns to constituent ...

A.A.: "I'm sorry, but he's in a conference call on national security. You'll have to leave ..."

P.O.P.: "But ..."

A.A., picking up the phone: "Hello, security?"

phone: "Security here ..."

you can guess the rest ...
