9. The problem is that stat governments are easy picking for big health. What happens to choice rites
at the state level. I'm not convinced this is a good thing.
But maybe, it's the crack in the wall that allows the merged bill to be "corrected", so ...

It appears that they will allow the states to opt into the Public Option. Maybe this is a start.

4. Not enough.
It basically lets states set up their own. Too weak.

The Baucus bill must be killed in committee.

8. that's also worthless because so many state legislatures and governors are Republican.
This is another ploy to pass a worthless non option option.

Here in Florida we can't even get the Federal stimulus money allocated to our state distributed because the state legislature and governor are GOP and won't let it happen.

Any bets on the odds of them allowing a state administered public option in FL?

25. I wonder if anyone ever really paid attention to this...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEJL2Uuv-oQ

Boy: Listen to those congressmen arguing! Is all that discussion and debate about you?

Bill: Yeah, I'm one of the lucky ones. Most bills never even get this far. I hope they decide to report on me favourably, otherwise I may die.

Boy: Die?

Bill: Yeah, die in committee. Oooh, but it looks like I'm gonna live! Now I go to the House of Representatives, and they vote on me.

Boy: If they vote yes, what happens?

Bill: Then I go to the Senate and the whole thing starts all over again.

Boy: Oh no!

Bill: Oh yes!

I'm just a bill
Yes, I'm only a bill
And if they vote for me on Capitol Hill
Well, then I'm off to the White House
Where I'll wait in a line
With a lot of other bills
For the president to sign
And if he signs me, then I'll be a law.
How I hope and pray that he will,
But today I am still just a bill.

and comites del congreso de la Republica.

The similarities though are enough for me to go... cute... I liked that one. Thanks, had never seen the whole toon until today.

And I don't expect a single Puke to go for it.

Harkin wants only Dems at the table when the Finance (Baucus's) bill and the HELP (Kennedy's) bill are reconciled together.

I like the sound of that and am encouraged we will end up with a strong PO.

18. I see it as a start to reconciliation
it is far more than I expected to get out of FINANCE. Why is this committee dominated by righties, I don't know.

Now I have said it in the past, they do not get a good PO when all is said and done, I am done voting for this party...

Yes told the DNC caller as much last night... seems they've been hearing this quite a bit.

21. I feel the same way.
Don't forget we will have a strong piece of legislation out of the House that will need to be merged with the Senate's bill.

Still a long way to go; I get angry but I haven't given up hope yet. :hi:

20. There is still reconciliation with bills with a PO
this is far more than I expected out of finance, to be honest.

Now they don't get a PO to the President's desk, they lost me as a voter...

Yes, I told them that much last night when they called for money.

No doubt.

Still though... those clowns need to stop pretending they're relevant. Just think cause the M$M props them up they think they're somehow more important. Pfft.
