One good thing about the Olympics rejection.
I know, "What could be a good thing about it?"

We are seeing first hand how the right-wing hatred at all costs for Obama is translating into openly cheering something Obama wanted, and would have benefited the Midwest, the "Heartland."

So a lot of the dittoheads, Beckheads, etc are going to get angry at their gurus and tell them to fuck off.

1. I don't think so
You give those people too much credit. If they had two brain cells to rub together they would have figured it out by now.

4. Rio had it in the bag all along
The first time a really credible and competitive proposal was presented by a South American country is a shoe in.

South America is long past due to host an Olympics.

I see it as a sort of coming out party for South America.

6. But the best thing about it ...
Is Richie Daley comes back mortally wounded. He was already wounded. His approval is down to 35% (this is a guy who has gotten elected with no less than 60% in four separate elections).
He sold off our parking meters. People around him are going to jail.

Maybe the good news is that nobody trusts the Daley machine to get things done properly anymore. I'm ready for the 2011 mayoral races!! (Who's running?)
