Americans Still Don't Have A Friggin Clue
The whole world is desperate and thirsty for the hope and fresh breeze that Obama is blowing.

May not mean shit to you, as a stuck up head up your ass spoiled American, but the whole damn world is digging it.

Go ahead and vent your spleen over it. I'm getting good schadenfreud out of your pain.

13. The BBC's "Have Your Say" is usually swamped by RWers
from what I've seen in the past. I wouldn't judge it as a scientific sample.

5. I'm on food stamps and haven't worked in well over a year...
No jobs available, especially for someone of my age..

But there was trillions of dollars available for those who already have billions..

Spoiled American?

6. Compared to the rest of the world?
You have food stamps - a government run program. Because you are an American, you have food to eat. Millions and millions of people in this world don't. THAT is why people call Americans spoiled.

14. For someone taking the name of a famously wise person..
You aren't living up to that moniker very well, IMO.

It's funny, I talk with my son in law's grandmother from time to time, she grew up almost literally dirt poor during the Depression, she says they didn't realize they were poor because everyone else around them was dirt poor too.

Like so many things in life, poverty is relative, it's one thing to be poor when everyone else is poor, it's entirely another to be poor when you are apparently surrounded by wealth.

10. What does that have to do with my opinion of Obama?
I'm pretty sure that's what your OP was all about.

If not then please correct my misinterpretation.

11. Actually it's already pretty close to 16%
I've been out of work long enough that I no longer show up on the unemployment statistics, I know a lot of others like me.

12. Yes, things are bad for workers here and worse for me than most but
there are people far worse off in the world. Do we sit in our own little world and forget places like Darfur? Not saying we don't have huge issues to work on here but the most afflicted of us are better off than a lot of people in the rest of the world.
