Poll question: Which single event turned the tide on the Public Option?
Edited on Fri Oct-09-09 12:13 PM by Doctor_J
It actually looks like we might get something workable. Lots of efforts over the past few months. Can you pinpoint what was the most important?

2. I think the Joe Wilson outburst made Americans look at themselves...
Really look at themselves. And I don't think they liked what they saw. For the most part...

3. Will take more time for history to gel itself on that. But let the record reflect...
That I called the game, in no uncertain words, a week ago. :P

I could still be wrong, of course, but more and more bigshots stating similarly.

4. Obama's speech.
Opinion has been steadily rising since then.

5. I think you can attribute it to the over-the-top RW reaction
and the President doing what he always does -- sit back and let them self-explode. What appears as a win for the RW in time, is always a loss.

6. Political maneuvering.
The actual reason we get whatever we get will have nothing to do with anything listed in your poll.

7. Other: most Senators dimly began to realize
just how angry their constituents are at the present system and that their cushy jobs are in jeopardy if they don't pass something halfway decent.

After all, they need those jobs to keep raking in perks and bribes, er, campaign contributions.

8. Barack Obama, doing exactly what we elected him to do.
I find it odd that that wasn't included as a poll choice.
