Edited on Fri Oct-09-09 07:29 PM by Sebastian Doyle
Shouldn't that be a requirement for a "peace prize"?

(and for the record, my position on President Obama winning is the same as Michael Moore's..... "Congratulations, now live up to it")

However I hate threads like this. It's always Kucinich or Obama because I strongly support both.

36. I have to agree.
The suffering of other people is extremely enjoyable. Who doesn't enjoy raising their own status by lowering another's status, aka, belittling people?

Children enjoy teasing for the same reason they enjoy ice cream, they're both delicious.

pissed on.

See?

34. The Nobel Peace Prize is given to people who have far reaching influence. Pissing on Jesus or not,
Dennis Kucinich is not known by many people outside of the United States.
Its the simple truth.

by definition, is not eligible for the Nobel Peace Prize.

44. He may be closer to the ideal, but he's had far less effect.
Obama isn't as peaceful as I would prefer (few are), but I can understand why he won, and I can appreciate the fact that he's putting a different face out there to the rest of the world, one that's calmer and not full of bluster and phony patriotism. The world does look to the US, whether they or us want to admit it, and he's making a big difference in how they see us when they do.
