Update on Beanie and Jason (both are home from the hospital)

The worst this time is over. Both went home Thursday. Jason may continue to have seizures when he has fevers. They will be doing tests. He will be medicated for the next 2 years. This round of fevers was from swine flu. Beanie had it too.

Marta & I had our flu shots yesterday. I'm not feeling great while my system learns to make antibodies for this go around. The last time we had the flu (Marta & I at the same time) was hell. That was the year there was a shortage 4-5 years ago and we didn't get shots. I still blame W for that!

I had the A flu about 20 years ago. I was sick for 9-10 days. I'll never miss a flu shot again except for that year of the W flu.

1. This sort of ting is the main reason why they are so emphatic about kids getting the H1N1

flu shot this year. Serious complications including death are more common in kids with this flu. And don't believe the BS that the only people getting in trouble are those with serious preexisting disease. That is false.

I got my seasonal flu shot last weekend, and was a bit off for a day or so. I am eagerly anticipating my H1N1 shot in a few weeks after the interferon peak subsides.
