Sounds like Faux News is a co-conspirator in the balloon hoax
"Investigators are examining the possibility of other conspirators, "including the possibility that even some of the media outlets may have had some knowledge about this," Alderden said.

Documents show that a media outlet has agreed to pay money to the Heenes with regards to the balloon incident, Alderden said. He didn't name the media outlet, but said it was a show that blurs "the line between entertainment and news." It wasn't clear whether the deal was signed before or after the alleged hoax, or whether that media outlet was a possible conspirator."

12. Wasn't that the gist of Network -- that the News Department had
been taken over by the Entertainment Department?

That's sure how it seems nowadays, anyway.

21. Right . . . but we KNOW we have been watching fake news . . .
take 2000 and the FOX/Jon Ellis recall of Florida from Gore to Bush --

that was done with the aid of the large computers used by our corporate press

which brought them the ability not only to report on vote totals but to PREDICT

THEM .... and to CALL STATES ... for candidates!!!

That all began in the mid and late 1960's . . . just about the time we were passing

The Voting Rights Act!!!!

I think the right wing are now going to try a backlash on early/Absentee voting --

in 2008 it was expected that one-third of the votes were going to be Absentee!!!

Probably a great deal to do with how we avoided another rip off!!!

And, somewhere in our brains are replays of those 9/11 videos with the planes going

slo-mo into the steel towers like BUTTER.

As Cheney said . . . they create the reality . . . and we live it!!

We're still living the reality of their fake wars and paying for them!!

And if we "known" merely subconsciously, how does it benefit us right now?

36. By "they" I mean those who are inhaling Fox as 'fair and balanced',
and even the majority of the rest of the country. They don't know that we aren't getting the whole story, still believe that our country is telling us the truth always, and that the incentive behind the news is profit rather than actually reporting the news.

It benefits us only in that we know to look elsewhere for the truth and can have a better sense of what's going on and what's coming down. It inspires us to try to do something about it, even if all we can really do is spread the truth and occasionally get heard by our elected officials.

That's what I mean, but of course that's only my opinion (which is always subject to change!)

We need to restore the Fairness In Broadcasting Doctrine --

Like "liar loans," Fox is simply another way to rip off people -- !!

38. Yeah -- The Fairness Doctrine. I just can't imagine how anybody convinced
themselves -- or their constituents -- that they were doing the right thing by voting against something called The Fairness Doctrine! :IF THERE WAS A SHAKING MY HEAD IN PUZZLEMENT SMILEY IT WOULD GO HERE:

How could we NOT restore it?

tho, truth be told, even after it was overturned I had no idea of it --

dumb, huh?

I presume that money bought its overturning and is keeping it from being restored ---

as so much else has been damaged by corrupt power.

40. I wasn't aware of it, either. Only learned about it on DU. And I presume
as you do -- money. It's always the money.

There are so many deals going on and being passed/rescinded without our knowledge, it's impossible to keep up. For example, someone posted that "abstinence only" education funding was included in one of the health reform bills. We, John Q, are under the impression that it's straight forward. Shall we do X? Yes or no. We have no idea of all the stuff that's buried in those bills. It's maddening that they actually sneak stuff in. :grr:

If it was Fox News, that would be the stupidest thing they had ever been involved with, and better yet.. They could lose their license in the process..wouldn't that be grand?? To have a huge SO CALLED News organization brought to its knees by a Kevlar balloon.
