1. I just don't see

how it's going to reduce health care costs. Reduce the deficit? Sure. But not our overall health costs.

Yes, there are many good reforms in the bill, but not nearly what I hoped for a year ago.

Mandates create fixed market demand. Massachusetts has them too, along with 12% higher than average premiums ($13.7K a year for a family). Your insurance premiums may cost more than taxes in many single-payer countries, after this is all done.

Its unfortunate. A lot of the political rhetoric that first sold this was based on costs. As more details about the exchange/option/subsidies panned out, a lot of that talk was dropped but the bandwagon kept going.

How will America remain competitive paying off middle men? How will the middle class thrive?

2. mandates are a killer for me

And if the bill passes with forced private insurance mandates and with fines if you don't pay then it should be challenged all the way to the Supreme Court as unconstitutional.

A government run public system, yes I can see everyone has to participate. But a private for profit corps running it, hell no!

Plus no cost containment? Hell NO!

This has the makings of a disaster.

Mark my words, the insurance companies will compensate for whatever "loss" they perceive in one area...they will make up in another. This is their nature.

Don't be caught up by some pretty language that catches your eye that might benefit your situation.
There are loopholes in this whole thing that could drag you under, not to mention plenty of people you know.

They will get their money. They are adept at doing this. Think before you get all mesmerized by fancy promises.

I'm just very worried about the mandates without a strong public option. I see vast numbers of people forced to buy expensive insurance plans without a competitive choice. I worry that the House going into conference with this weakened public option will result in no public option. I worry the insurance cartels will have no reason to lower premiums or stop the rise of premium costs if people have no where else to go.

12. in two years i will have medicare

i will have everything that is included in the house bill and more. my parents received every treatment they needed ,with supplemental every thing was paid. the biggest problem was the cost of medicine.

why can`t every one in this country have medicare/universal healthcare....europeans have universal healthcare...no wonder the french are the "happiest" people on the planet.
