I *Knew* That Mischief Was Afoot When They Picked 2013 As The Start Date
Edited on Tue Dec-15-09 11:53 PM by MannyGoldstein
At best, Rahm wanted to let the insurers engorge themselves for a few years. More likely he planned an awful "public option", and wanted to get Obama re-elected before the citizenry figured out that the "option" applied to almost nobody.

He wasn't counting on such solid opposition to any plan with the word "public" in it, even if it was a big sloppy wet kiss to insurers. Ultimately, the lessons of HillaryCare were ignored, with comparable results.

Perhaps we'll elect an actual Democrat to the White House in 2012, and more actual Democrats to Congress, and have a shot at actual reform.

2. I knew mischief was afoot with the 'Town Halls'
The leadership Democrats deserve whatever political fallout they get from this.

They deliberately let healthcare reform implode in favor of Big Insurance & Big Pharma. They may as well have hired the 'Teabaggers' themselves.

Where were the Town Halls on the Wall Street bailouts, the Afghan escalation?

3. I don't know. Where were YOU? Did YOU form a group to
attend all the town halls and complain? NO? The vote was before town halls? Then your problem is not with not complaining but that the timing was off.

I don't think it would have been a great idea to go to the same TH's as the tea baggers because it would have turned into violence. Tea baggers are fizzeling out anyway.
