1. As faras I know, the TX DA case against him is still on schedule.
I don't recall when he's scheduled to go to court though. There's also a case to go to court in Va. i think, but these things take a VERY LONG TIME!!!

2. Tom Delay went back to Texas where he laid quietly in his crypt
...on corrupted dirt until he regained enough strength to once again wander back into the light of day reaping havoc and chaos and corruption everywhere he lands.

<snip>
Tom DeLay compares his criminal indictment to genocide

This just makes it more clear that since his indictment and subsequent resignation from Congress, DeLay has become a bitter little whiner. On a radio station today, DeLay said the following:

I am so outraged by this whole criminalization of politics. It’s not good enough to defeat somebody politically. It’s not even good enough to vilify somebody publicly. They have to carpet bomb you with lies and made up scandals and false charges and indicting you on laws that don’t exist. … It’s the same thing as I say in my book, that the Nazis used. When you use the big lie in order to gain and maintain power, it is immoral and it is outrageous…

It’s the same process. It’s the same criminalization of politics. it’s the same oppression of people. It’s the same destroy people in order to gain power. It may be six million Jews. it may be indicting somebody on laws that don’t exist. But, it’s the same philosophy and it’s the same world view.

I thought the prosecutor was given a judgeship
And that's why nothing is happening with the case. Do I remember incorrectly?

6. Local DA, not US attorney.
The case proceeds. It's been split: There were two separate laws, and one charge (or set of closely related charges) were tossed out. The out-tossing is being appealed; evidence is still being gathered on the others. I suspect that the prosecutor wants to try him on all the charges at once.

8. That's what I heard as well, but one must take into accout
some of the odder aspects of TX law, like LA law, there are some things in there that don't come up to par w/many other states. Being as DP happy as TX is, one would think it would be interesting if they could find something DeLay couldbe executed for...bet you the farm, he'd be screaming to get out of that little situation.

DeLay believes he did nothing wrong, (not a good defense by the way), but that is why he's running around telling people of his persecution in these proceedings. This will not bode well fior him when he goes to trial, most prodsecutors, and virtually all judges, do not like being called political shills.
