What do you think about Gerald Celente?
Does anyone here have any opinions on Gerald Celente? I been looking back at his writings and he has been pretty spot on. For example, he called the economic melt down a year before it was a blip on 99.9% of economists radar. He called a major terrorist event prior to 9/11.

About 2 months before this latest (failed) terrorist event he was saying to expect more terrorist attacks soon due to the expansion of the war. Granted that was pretty much a "no shit sherlock" call considering anyone with common sense would know expanding the war would cause some kind of response, but he is one of the only people that gets even some media attention that I saw say it out loud.

Now he saying to expect another 9/11 style attack next year.

Also prior to this terrorist plot he was talking about Yemen and Saudi Arabia.... which I find pretty telling considering that is what the media is all over now and prior to this we weren't hearing a thing. He is saying the government will use this an excuse to expand the war even further down the line.

He is also saying that Yemen could potentially cause a major disruption in the oil supply next year depending on what kind of attacks they make on the Saudis and if so all bets are off on an economic recovery.

Anyone have any thoughts on him? Does he know what is talking about? Did he get lucky on previous calls? Is he clueless?

1. He's probably frightening to most people in this forum

But I do think he gets the financial collapse and its implications.

2. He predicted a commercial real estate crash for Spring 2009 which did not
materialize. Or perhaps it's only been delayed.

3. I already see a lot of empty businesses

Others are waiting to see if they had enough holiday sales to stay in business. Otherwise, I expect to see more closed after the New Year.

5. Sure did in Allentown
I drive in the warehouse district, lots of space for rent. The CMBs might not have blown up yet, but they might be more of a cover-up than anything else.

6. But he was specifically talking about major cities, like New York
I don't doubt that he has insight, and I enjoy listening to him. But I wonder what happened with that one.

Do a search for NY real estate rentals, government intervention through Timmeh might have prevented NY from being hit as hard as other areas.

4. I subscribe to his newsletter
Gerald understands human nature/psychology and makes all of his predictions based on that understanding.

For example 9-11, 30 years of US intervention in Arabic affairs was going to result in blow-back, it was plain to see based on what Israel experiences.

The Housing crisis was easy to predict because he got reports of what was going on at the firms. Reading the data, a collapse is unavoidable.

Gerald also understands politics in America and has a disdain for both party's leaders.

Commercial Real Estate thing in 2009, anyone can see that it has only been delayed, just like EVERYTHING the Criminals do only delays the inevitable.

I have been telling everyone for some time it is the next shoe to drop.

The Media is saying next to NOTHING about it, despite the growing evidence that continues to emerge.

And they won't.

When it happens, they will simply throw their hands over their heads and exclaim the same bullshit that always tumbles out of their mouth when something happens.

"No one could have foreseen...."

Then will begin the long process of bailing out, backstopping, covering up, and propping artificially of THAT Crisis, solving nothing, and merely delaying the inevitable AGAIN.

And so it will go.....

Until it Can't.

That being said, that is a name that will instantly cause shrieking, gnashing, mocking, giggling and snickering amongst many at DU, who aren't even ready to see past the BS that is the "Economic Recovery", "Health Care Reform", and the continuing "War On Terror".

Many aren't even ready to let go of the Single Bullet Theory, much less listen to what Gerald has to say.

Anything outside of their false paradigm simply isn't allowed to exist.

I wonder how long it will be before "The Earth is Really Flat" Posts start coming up.

You laugh now.....
