for 3 million whose homes and basic infrastructure were destroyed (hey, maybe also put in a 100 million for those driven into homelessness in the US), That says all you need to know about the priorities of those who own and control the government of the US.

2. 100 million is just the start according to the prez
and in reality it's far more. The cost of sending all those ships and soldiers and supplies is hardly negligible. By the way, China has pledged a million dollars.

Some of you are so consumed by hate that you look compulsively for something- anything- to criticize. Fortunately, there are only a handful of you.

unrecced with brio.

4. Dumb question.

$100 million huh? What happens with this $100,000,000? Do you walk up to the president of Haiti and hand it to him? What is he supposed to do with the money, run over to a Walmart in the Dominican Republic and buy whatever Haiti needs? It could just be me, but it seems they need food/water and medical supplies much worse than money.

$5,000,000 worth of emergency supplies right now would go a lot farther than even a trillion dollars worth of paper deposited in the National Bank of Haiti.

Sorry, I've simply never understood the concept of this practice. My donation is going to the Red Cross. After hurricane Rita, they were there for us and it showed me first hand what they're capable of, I have no qualms about handing cold hard-earned cash to the Red Cross.

5. The money number is just a statement about what the US gov't will spend to help.
None of it goes to anything other than paying for stuff and acts done by US agencies. It is definitely not a funds transfer to a bank or person in Haiti as you have beeh led to believe. Who/whatever led you to imagine that is a professional liar or a gullible dumbass
