In Teddy's seat? Because of opposition to health care reform?!

:puke:

PS: Is there anything the rest of us can do to help?

5. Definition of "Palinite"
Palinite:

Someone who defends the actions and/or ridiculous comments from Alaskan female candidates no matter if they catch on fire from spontaneous combustion as "A breath of fresh air".

Husband: People use phrases like "You Betcha'", "Say it ain't so, Joe" and "Doggone it" in the political world?!

Wife: Who cares if she doesn't know what she is talking about! She's just speaking to the average Joe Six Pack, she's a breath of fresh air!

Husband: Don't be such a Palinite!

in the platform.

12. Why? What good has it done us?
If Democrats act this much like Republicans I don't see the point of keeping Republicans out of office.

Let's just hand it all to the Republicans and say the hell with it. Sounds good to me. :sarcasm:

27. Although they've been disappointing, it's NOTHING compared to what we would see
if the Reps take over. Just remember the past 8 years, Reaganomics, stripping our civil rights, torture, Iraq...

29. What's the point of making it even worse?
Complain that the 58 dems don't do enough is one thing, but make it worse in retaliation?

If you take headache pills and they don't work, the solution is to bang your head on the wall to make it hurt more?

7. ugh
the unfortunate fact is that western mass isn't as liberal as eastern mass. It's almost like a whole other state out there.

i have a rotten feeling that this one is going to be real close...

10. The heck with worrying about *WESTERN* Mass!
Edited on Fri Jan-15-10 09:05 AM by Tesha
Worry about the Boston 'burbs!

Yesterday, I was driing around Boston's northern suburbs
and while I saw lots of Brown lawn signs and quite a few
Brown bumper stickers, I've never ever seen even one sign
or sticker for Coakley!

It's as though she felt like she didn't need to run any
campaign at all! Didn't someone tell her that the Republicans,
nationwide, had absolutely nothing else to so this January
besides creating trouble for her in Massachusetts???

Democrats have to be some of the most naïve politicians
on the planet!!!

11. Not true
Many of the small towns out here are populated by the "earthy crunchy" liberal types, similar to Northampton in attitude.

In 2008, Barack Obama won handily in all except one of the little Hilltowns, where McCain only won by a very slim margin.

It's probably safe to say that the relative percentages of liberals to conservatives in Western Mass matches the percentages found in the eastern part. It's just not as highly populated out this way.

I realize we probably look like a bunch of rural hicks out here, but we're not.

19. Just thought I'd back up my statement...
The four Western Mass counties are:

Hampden
Hampshire
Franklin
Berkshire

Obama way ahead in all of them.

That may confuse some voters because of the name.

Especially with some of the elderly, who might have missed the statements from the media that this Kennedy is NOT related to Ted.

16. Kennedy has about 5% in the polls I saw which may be enough
to draw away from a Dem victory in this close race (at least I think it is close at this point)

Most references to him in news reports refer to him as "no relation to..." He's also listed on the ticket as a Libertarian. People here know the difference.

13. Coakley got more votes in the D primary than there were voters in the R primary
There was one poll with a screwed up likely voter model that had the race as close; everybody else has Coakley up by double digits.

Wow. You think a getting a Republican elected would be better than a Democrat? You think that will make your world more equitable?
