Two economic questions for tea-partiers:
http://www.mybudget360.com/ (story from January 17th 2010)

Here are the facts:
1. The top 1% of the population own 42% of all financial wealth.
2. Regarding percentage, the top 0.1% of the population pay less taxes on their income than you.
3. This country is currently in a monstrous debt.

Questions:
1. What are your suggestions for solving the financial crisis?
2. Regarding legislation of the past decade, do you really think you are more important to the Republican party than Big Money?

1. it kind of funny how people on the right identify with wealth
I was always amazed with the masses of people ready to jump on the bandwagon for repeal of the estate tax. Most, if not nearly all, of those that would actually be impacted by this tax make sure they avoid it. But there remain tens of thousands who scream "unfair!!!" when there is no way on earth that their estates will ever reach that limit. But . . . the repubs convinced them that, in this land of dreams-come-true, when they hit the lotto, the Dems will be there to get their share when they pass.

This same group does not appear to understand the the R's are the party of and for the wealthy. The GOP's sole aim in life is to help preserve, and grow that wealth. The votes come from those that will never come close to being wealthy, but have some baseless sense of identity with that group.

They are just amazing.

2. Dreams-come-true
This is only the land of dreams-come-true if you have nightmares of being evicted, arrested, or denied health care.

7. yet there remain tens-of-thousands who will call the estate tax unfair
not that they are even close to having their estates taxed, but because pigboy, hannity and the other repub voices tell them that they are being screwed by the D's.

They simply like to identify themselves with the wealthy R's.

(I should have annotated "dreams-come-true" appropriately. Those days are gone for most, unfortunately.)

Aspiring Republicans are roped in to the whole thing in the exact same way they get people to sell Amway Soap.

8. Ignorance Is Bliss...
I've had the "pleasure" of talking economics with some Paulbots and Wingnuts...it's like a visit to the twilight zone. The knee-jerk answer for any question is "cut taxes and get the government out of my business". What's screwy is many of these people are wage slaves with little or no equity or small business people who think it's the government, not the stranglehold large corporates have that is keeping them from getting rich.

The rosey path the rushpublicans have and continue to push is how they're the party of "fiscal responsibility"...laugh as you will, but these people will find ways to justify that meme no matter how many facts you put in front of them or point out how they're being used as pawns. They tend to believe that eventually they will be rich or will be "rewarded" for their loyalty and if it doesn't happen, it's obviously the Democrat's fault (all that spending on poor people (translation: non-white) and "tree-huggers". Dare to counter with how the GOOP has their own corporate welfare system and wait for the crickets.

9. Tea Baggers are too stupid to see they are manipulated by the Neocons...
They think they are part of the middle class, that they are "better" than the unwashed worker class that they piss on.

Someday the Tea Baggers will wake up from their stupefied Glenn Beck/Dick Army trance and realize they have been robbed for every last penny here in the Checkbook Republic.

With tea bags hanging from the brim of their hats to their little signs at town hall meetings featured on Fox News, "Medical Bankruptcy... it's my right... I demand it".

The final insult will be when they discover that they ain't (sic) in the middle class, that Pat Robertson has been stroking them all along just so that they would keep sending dollars and Wall Street has no intention of EVER giving them back their 401Ks.

Stupid Dolts

10. You think teabaggers have valid solutions to offer?
WTF are you smoking, pal. The best those morans can come up with are poorly-spelled and totally nonsensical placards, to wit: "Keep yer gubmint hands off my Medicare" and "Obama is a pinko fashionist, soshulist commie".

Actual solutions? I may soil myself laughing hysterically.
